EAFC 25 will have a paid Premium Season Pass tier in addition to the free one, and here’s everything you need to know about the new system.
EAFC 25 is the upcoming soccer simulation game from EA Sports, and as usual, it will arrive with a Season Pass system. However, this time, there will be a paid tier to the Season Pass, which might not be as bad as it sounds. You’ll be able to play EAFC 25 from September 27, 2024, when it officially launches on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. However, if you pre-order the game, it will be available to you from September 20.
The game will have many unique new features and game modes, such as FC IQ, Player Roles, Goalkeeper PlayStyles, and 5v5 Rush Mode. However, it’s the Season Pass that fans seem to be most curious about. Here’s what you should know about it.
How the Season Pass System Will Work in EAFC 25
A Season Pass system in most games comes with free rewards that are unlocked through progression. That is also the case with EA Sports’ upcoming soccer game, but there will be a special, paid tier to this system. The Season Pass system in EAFC 25 will offer two levels of rewards: basic and premium.
You can use FC Points or Coins to unlock all of the premium rewards, but you must reach a certain level to claim them. There won’t be any exclusive rewards with the premium paid version of Season Pass, so there’s no pressure to buy it.
As revealed in a VG247 report, the premium tier is offered as an additional reward. This will be available to you after you reach a particular reward level in the free Season Track. You’ll be unlocking both free and premium tier rewards simultaneously as you gain XP and complete objectives.

Each level will have a Basic Reward and a Premium Reward.
You will be able to unlock all the Premium Rewards with FC Points or Coins, but you still need to reach that level to claim them.

Karthik Venkateshan, a Producer on Ultimate Team, told VG247:
“The free tier would be essentially what players see in the game today. Like you can go back into the game and see the free tier as it would be what it was in 24 – then the premium pass is something we’re adding on top. That’ll be a shared thing across Clubs, Career and Ultimate Team. That’s new for 25.”
Game Design Director for Ultimate Team Richard Waltz added:
“At a high level, there will be nothing in the paid tier that can’t be earned in the free tier. There’s no exclusive rewards that will mean that you have to do that. We’re going to be having players, packs, that sort of thing, in Clubs, customization options. It’s also good to note that it will be available for both Coins and FC Points as well, so you can decide.”
So, you can purchase the new paid Season Pass in EAFC 25 through FC Points or Ultimate Team Coins. FC Points are essentially the virtual currency in EAFC that you can buy with real money. Meanwhile, you can earn Coins by grinding and progressing through the game. At the end of the day, if you don’t buy FC Points, you won’t have a significant disadvantage when it comes to the Season Pass in EAFC 25.
