Square Enix announced in the 2024 Game Awards that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be finally coming to PC, releasing on January 23, 2025, on Steam and Epic Games. They also confirmed the system requirements for the PC, giving out a list of specifications to run the game on Minimum, Recommended, and Ultra settings.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the second game in the trilogy that is remaking the entire Final Fantasy 7 (1997). The developers released the previous game, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, for PC on December 16, 2021.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Release Date Announcement
Square Enix is prepared to release Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC after a year of its PS5 release. The game also had a PS5 Pro enhancement patch released in November 2024, which optimized the game to use the upgraded specs of the PS5 Pro.
But despite the enhancement patch and the PC port announcement, the game will not be released with DLCs, unlike its predecessor, Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s INTERmission Expansion. Square Enix has said that as of now, they are focusing on the development of the next Final Fantasy game in the trilogy.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Requirements
After announcing the PC port in the 2024 Game Awards, Square Enix also released a list of system requirements for the PC version of the game. The developers stated that the PC port will have enhanced lighting, enhanced texture quality settings, and will have DLSS upscaling technology support, which improves performance. But players will need an Nvidia graphics card to run DLSS, preferably the RTX 30 series or newer.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth requires a 64-bit version of Windows 10 or 11 alongside DirectX 12 to run. The game also requires at least 16 GB of RAM and 155 GB of storage space, preferably on a solid-state drive.
A multi-core CPU such as Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel I7-8700 or higher is recommended alongside a graphics card such as RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or newer. Players who want to use a 4K monitor will require a graphics card with a video memory of 12 GB to 16 GB.

The director of the game, Naoki Hamaguchi, has recommended the PC version to the players because of its enhanced texture, lighting, and shaders currently exclusive only to the upcoming PC port. Square Enix has also stated that until February 13, the game will be discounted by up to 30%. And that fans will have to wait a while for any DLC announcements.
