Having reached the pinnacle of the Hero Association, Blast is the physical representation of unparalleled strength and capability. He had only been mentioned in passing for several years, but his appearance in the series finally occurred when the stakes were higher than ever.
Since he is not very concerned with the work of the association itself, Blast is a carefree hero who has his own objectives. This involves searching for mysterious cubes that can channel the power of God and endanger the entire world. Hence, despite his demeanor, he cares deeply about the common populace.
There were concerns that he could turn out to be a deceitful figure like King, but his appearance put these to rest. Focused on handling a threat he believes to be far worse than the monsters, Blast is calm and analytical but also gets serious when required.

Blast’s Role in the Monster Association Arc

Blast’s first major appearance in One Punch Man is during the Monster Association Arc. He had initially shown up when God began testing Saitama, Flash, and other heroes. Relieved that they hadn’t fallen to the being, he explained the meaning of the cubes and went to another dimension without explanation.

However, Blast appeared again when God began manipulating Garou’s powers. Sensing the danger of the antagonist and his cosmic radiation that could destroy the world, he engaged in a heated battle but failed to take the upper hand. During the confusion, Garou killed Genos and refused to pay attention to Blasts’ strengths.

Soon, Saitama returns and gets unnaturally serious after noticing Genos’ death. He jumped into a battle that produced shockwaves too dangerous for Blast and the entire world. However, with the help of his companions, they divert the energy.

Therefore, Blast showing up in this arc shows the escalation of the danger level of Garou. He recognized the hand of God and prioritized protecting the world. Nevertheless, he failed to save the lives of many heroes who fell at the hands of Garou’s radiation. Since the antagonist himself had regret over his actions, he taught Saitama how to travel back in time to prevent their ominous future.

Blast’s Strengths and Abilities

Blast may not have been able to single-handedly end the fight against Garou and God, but he is still an immensely powerful individual. His physical strength, reflexes, and speed were honed enough to keep up with Cosmic Garou and also interfere in the battle between the villain and Saitama.

Additionally, he is one of the few individuals who can withstand Garou’s energy, showcasing his endurance. His most impressive abilities involve the manipulation of space and gravity using portals. Blast can instantly travel to different places and dimensions using these portals. He can surround large structures with this same ability and control every element of them.

His power over gravity is so great that he can manipulate radiation, fly, and even use long-distance attacks with gravitational energy. Similarly, he can launch energy blasts and punches that are extremely potent and hard to evade.

Along with all these abilities, Blast is a very clever and strategic person with great awareness and perception. He can gauge danger accurately and take rapid steps to counter it. Without his presence, it is highly likely that the entire world would be destroyed.

Is Blast Stronger Than Saitama?

The number one hero is undoubtedly a figure of dominant power in One Punch Man, but does that mean he is stronger than the protagonist? Saitama often acts as an underestimated figure but is capable of ending any fight with One Punch.

As the power of his opponents keeps increasing, so do his displays of physical abilities. Going from punches capable of ending planets, speed that can create afterimages, and durability to the degree where he has never faced defeat, there are no seeming flaws with Saitama.

Hence, based on the current situation in One Punch Man, the answer to whether Blast is stronger than Saitama would be a no. While the top hero’s supernatural abilities and higher thinking capability would help him put up a valiant fight, Saitama’s identity as the main character who shows up in the nick of time to save the day inevitably makes him stronger.

It must be mentioned that while Saitama may be more powerful in terms of raw power, Blast is more experienced in dealing with cosmic threats. Hence, while there may be no one capable of beating the protagonist in combat, Blast has him beaten in dealing with radiation and cosmic energy.
