While the Solo Leveling anime is yet to catch up to the events of its manhwa adaptation, anime-only fans of the series cannot help but speculate about the extent of Jin-Woo’s power. In Solo Leveling, Sung Jin-Woo’s power is nothing short of godlike. By the end of the original web novel and its manhwa adaptation, Jin-Woo transcends his mortal limits, surpassing the combined power of all Monarchs and Rulers, making him the strongest being in his universe.

Sung Jin-Woo began the series as the “World’s Weakest Hunter”, who barely survived Dungeon Raids. However, after a life-threatening encounter at a Double Dungeon, Jin-Woo was given a second chance at life and an opportunity to “level up” his power. With the help of the mysterious System, Jin-Woo gradually rose to the top of the hierarchy of Hunters, becoming the Strongest Hunter in the world. What’s more, Jin-Woo’s power has no definite ceiling. In other words, there is no extent or limit to how powerful he can become, placing him in the realm of the strongest characters ever created.

In the final act of season 2 of Solo Leveling‘s manhwa adaptation, Jin-Woo defeated Antares, the King of Dragons and the Monarch of Destruction. Antares was the oldest and strongest Monarch, who undoubtedly gave Jin-Woo the fight of his life. However, with the help of the Rulers, Jin-Woo was able to defeat Antares and create a new timeline with the Cup of Reincarnation.

In this new timeline, Jin-Woo battled against his enemies all by himself inside a Dimensional Rift, where he faced off against Antares once again. He was victorious against the Monarch of Destruction once again, this time with relative ease as compared to their last battle. Following this encounter, Jin-Woo officially became the strongest being of the Solo Leveling universe, as he was even capable of rivalling the power of the Itarim, a race of Outer Gods, all by himself.

Perhaps the greatest ability in Sung Jin-Woo’s possession is the System, which is the sole reason behind his newfound strength. It is a mysterious program that Kandiaru, the Hidden Boss of the Double Dungeon, had created and developed for Ashborn, the First Shadow Monarch.

Apparently, the purpose of the System was to help Ashborn choose and train his potential successor to become his vessel. The System takes the appearance of a video game interface that is only visible to Jin-Woo. By completing the quests given to him by the System, Jin-Woo can increase his strength, agility, stamina, intelligence, mana, and other abilities.

That said, after Ashborn revived him and gave him the full extent of his powers, Jin-Woo became the Second Shadow Monarch, which made him one of the strongest beings in existence. Since there is no upper limit to his powers, Jin-Woo has immeasurable strength, speed, durability, and absolute control over shadows and darkness. He also received a second heart from Ashborn, which made him effectively immortal and immune to aging.

Some of his active skills are as follows:

  • Stealth, which helps him camouflage with his surroundings.
  • Bloodlust, which allows him to momentarily intimidate an opponent into submission.
  • Ruler’s Authority, which allows him to move and control objects as well as his opponents via telekinesis.
  • Dragon’s Fear, which is a mana-infused shout that is capable of driving anyone weaker than him in a state of panic and fear.

Lastly, Jin-Woo’s job skills provide him with a versatile range of abilities, including Shadow Extraction, which helps him to extract shadows from the corpses of his opponents, and Monarch’s Domain, which allows him to increase the strength of all his shadows in battle.

Sung Jin-Woo’s Notable Feats in Solo Leveling

Throughout the series, Sung Jin-Woo has accomplished a plethora of impressive feats, each one of them paving the way for him to become the strongest being in existence. At the beginning of the series, Jin-Woo helped save the lives of several people inside the Double Dungeon, sacrificing his own life in the process. This feat truly showcased “The Courage of the Weak”, the first quest that made Jin-Woo worthy of becoming Ashborn’s successor.

Even before his first battle against the Monarchs, Jin-Woo had become much stronger than any other Hunter. One of his greatest feats before his battle against the Monarchs includes beating Thomas Andre, the strongest Nation Level Hunter, within an inch of his life and leaving him on the brink of death. Another feat that put Jin-Woo on the map was his monumental showdown against the Ant King of Jeju Island, which was essentially a one-sided beatdown.

In his first battle against the Monarchs, Jin-Woo was able to hold his own while fighting the Monarch of Frost, the Monarch of Fangs, and the Monarch of Plagues all at the same time. Although he ultimately perished during the battle, he was revived by Ashborn, following which he unlocked the full extent of his powers and defeated his opponents with ease. Lastly, Jin-Woo was able to defeat Antares, the strongest Monarch, not once, but twice in battle.

By the end of the Solo Leveling series, Sung Jin-Woo became not only the strongest Monarch but perhaps the strongest being in existence. Although there was a considerable gap in power between him and Antares during their first battle, Jin-Woo emerged victorious in the end with the help of the Rulers. However, to bring back all the people he had lost in his war against the Monarchs, Jin-Woo requested the Rulers to use the Cup of Reincarnation to rewind time, which resulted in the creation of a new timeline.

In this timeline, Jin-Woo sealed himself inside a Dimensional Rift and fought the Monarchs alongside his shadow army for almost 27 years. After defeating Antares for a second time, Jin-Woo returned to the human realm, ensuring peace for the world and his people. From thereon, Jin-Woo became the sole protector of his universe.

In the ongoing Solo Leveling: Ragnarök series, the narrative states that Jin-Woo has been at war against the Itarim, a race of Outer Gods, all on his own for about 2 years. Such a feat perhaps makes Jin-Woo as strong as the Absolute Being, who was the creator of his universe and life itself.

Conclusion

In all, we can conclude that Solo Leveling‘s Sung Jin-Woo is undeniably one of the strongest manhwa protagonists in the world. His rise to power is a testament to his indomitable spirit, unyielding will, and never-ending desire to live. His journey is nothing short of a spectacle that established the Solo Leveling series as the face of the manhwa industry.
