With the release of Dragon Age The Veilguard right around the corner, both fans of the series and RPG enthusiasts are excited. That said, many are questioning how The Veilguard, the fourth installment, fits into the timeline. To put it simply, Dragon Age 4 is a direct sequel to Inquisition

The game was originally called Dragon Age Dreadwolf, but it was later renamed to Dragon Age The Veilguard. It is the original name, Dreadwolf, that ties Inquisition to Dragon Age 4.

How Does Dragon Age: The Veilguard Connect to Inquisition

Set a decade after the events of Dragon Age Inquisition, Dragon Age The Veilguard brings back Solas as a core character. Solas, an elven apostate hedge mage, was a companion in Dragon Age Inquisition. He had joined the Inquisition to seal The Breach.

Furthermore, in the third game, Solas had deep knowledge of elven magic and origins. Partway through the game, Corypheus emerged as the main threat as he wished to create the Breach using an ancient Elven Orb. Then, as the battle with Corypheus unfolded on one end, Solas revealed more about the elven gods. However, Solas vanished after Corypheus was vanquished.

In a post-credit scene, Solas emerged again. The elven apostate revealed that he was the Dread Wolf, an ancient Elven entity. Solas then confessed that he had orchestrated the events of the game and used Corypheus as a pawn in order to unlock the powers of the Elven Orb as he had been in too weak a state to do so himself.

In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Solas, the Dread Wolf, will attempt to destroy the Veil and merge the worlds of the mortals and spirits into one.

The continuing story of the Dragon Age series, as it moves from one game to the next, has always been a highlight of the franchise for many players. Hopefully we will discover more details about how the events of Inquisition have influenced the world we’ll see in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
