The Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga series has sidelined plenty of characters in the series. The manga has progressed considerably. It’s clear that the story is slowly inching towards its conclusion. Since this is a sequel to the original Naruto series, the Boruto series included characters from the past. While some of them had a significant role to play, most of them were sidelined at an early stage. One character comes to mind, and he is Gaara.

Gaara is the leader of the Village Hidden in the Sand. He is one of, if not the most powerful shinobi in his village. Gaara is Naruto’s friend, and he appeared from time to time. However, he received a fair bit of screen time when Shinki was introduced. Shinki was a shinobi in the same village. However, he was unable to control his powers. Gaara met this young individual and helped him control his powers. He also adopted him, and that’s when Shinki came to the Konohagakure Chunin Exams.

However, fans are worried about Gaara’s status. The question that most fans have is this: Is Gaara dead in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex? No, Gaara is not dead in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. The manga revealed Gaara’s status in chapter 15 of the series. Based on what was shown, it is clear that Gaara is alive and well.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 15 has revealed the status of the character. Sunagakure was ambushed by Matsuri. She is the Shinju entity that sealed Moegi and gained consciousness. Gaara, Shinki, Araya, and Yodo were present. Despite all four of them being present, Matsuri was far too strong for them. Gaara was about to sacrifice his life and transport all three of them from there. However, Shinki wanted to save his adoptive father. He broke out of Gaara’s barrier and put a seal on his own father. This seal was strong enough to hold off any attacks that Matsuri threw their way.

Shinki was sealed shortly. However, his teammates escaped, and they immediately reported the situation to Kankuro. He is one of Gaara’s most trusted friends. Since they didn’t have the firepower to take on the Shinju, Kankuro in turn relayed this information to Shikamaru Nara. Kankuro asked him to share intel because they needed to undo Shinki’s seal.

Only Shinki can undo the barrier that he put Gaara in.

Therefore, undoing Shinki’s seal and defeating his Shinu clone is their primary goal. Kankuro asked Shikamaru to hide this information from Temari because she would be quite worried over Gaara’s safety.

Gaara’s Role in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Gaara was an important side character in the original Naruto series. He was sidelined in the original series as well. His importance in the sequel series has reduced drastically. One of the core themes in this series is the strength of the future generation. This is also why Kurama was killed and Sasuke has been sealed. This is to shift the focus to the next generation. Gaara takes on the role of a minor side character in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex series. He has been sealed by Shinki, and only he can undo it. This means Gaara can’t fight Shinki’s Shinju clone either.

It’s clear that the writers have sidelined him once again in the manga. He will play a minor role in the series, and his presence will most likely not affect the overarching story. It will be interesting to see how the series will progress.

Will Gaara Return to the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Manga?

It’s clear that Gaara will return to the manga. However, it is unlikely that he will stay here for a long time. The only reason we are sure of his return is the seal that he is in. Shinki sealed him in an Iron Sand barrier to ensure that none of the Shinju harmed him. Based on how things are progressing at the time being, Sarada and her comrades might be able to defeat Ryu and Matsuri. Sarada Uchiha might show her true potential during this fight.

She could retrieve the Thorn Soul Bulb and help Kankuro undo the seal on Shinki. Once this is done, Gaara will return to the manga and have an interaction with his adopted son. However, his involvement will only reduce as the series progresses. He is far too weak to have an impact on the overall story. It’s safe to say that fans will see Gaara return to the manga once again.

Will Shinki Have an Important Role in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex?

Gaara’s adoptive son was introduced to the manga once again. However, he was sealed by the Shinju, and his life depends on Sarada and her comrades’ efforts. Ryu is Shinki’s Shinju clone, and he seems quite powerful. However, Boruto could get himself involved and help Sarada, or she can defeat him all by herself. Either way, Ryu seems like a minor antagonist who will be defeated soon. After his recovery, it is highly unlikely that Shinki will have a crucial role in the plot progression. He could provide support to Konohagakure when the main antagonist is revealed. Other than that, Shinki will not have a massive role to play.

Conclusion

Gaara is alive and well. He is not dead in the manga series. Shinki sealed him, which means he is safe from all external threats. His son, however, has been sealed by the Shinju, and a clone is rampant. Konohagakure needs to act first and subdue Ryu as soon as they can. Jura is a massive threat, which means they need all the help that they can get. It will be interesting to see how the shinobis manage to deal with Ryu and help Shinki recover.
