Ever since the debut of its anime adaptation in 2016, Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia series gained a massive fan following and is widely considered to be one of the most popular shonen series of the modern generation. Several factors contributed to the series’ worldwide success, including the loveable cast of characters, gripping storylines, poignant exploration of deep themes, and an overall faithful adaptation.
As the series progresses, fans often wonder—is the My Hero Academia anime finished, or is there more to come? To answer the question—no, the My Hero Academia anime is yet to draw the curtains on its iconic run. However, the anime’s final season is set to premiere in Fall 2025, which would mark the decisive end of the beloved series. This is because the manga has already reached its conclusion on August 5, 2024.
Does My Hero Academia Have a Happy Ending?
Yes, the My Hero Academia manga does have a happy ending. My Hero Academia chapter 430 was initially the final chapter of the manga, which received mixed reactions from fans. This is because the chapter failed to tie up all the loose ends, and left the future of the Class A Heroes vastly unexplored. However, chapter 431, which was released in My Hero Academia volume 42, provided a satisfactory ending to the series and its characters.
In fact, majority of the fans expressed their gratitude to the mangaka, Kohei Horikoshi, for doing justice to the series’ ending. They also apologized to him for criticizing the previous conclusion to the My Hero Academia manga, i.e. chapter 430.
My Hero Academia chapter 430 featured a 8-year time skip. It provided a brief glimpse at the impact of the war on society, and how it changed the outlook of people on Heroes. It also showcased Deku’s life as a teacher at U.A. High. Towards the end of the chapter, Deku’s former classmates and friends from Class A pooled their money to gift him a functioning armor, which allowed him to become a Pro Hero once again.
On the other hand, chapter 431 featured a more detailed look at the lives of the My Hero Academia characters. All the students of U.A. High’s Class A became great Heroes, and were successful in accomplishing everything they had wanted. What’s more, the chapter marked a significant amount of growth in Deku’s character, and also seemingly confirmed his relationship with Ochaco Uraraka.
