IShowSpeed was asked about his chances against KSI in a boxing match. The streamer claimed that he could win if he trained for a few months.
YouTube streamer Darren “IShowSpeed” was recently invited to Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast. During their interview, Speed was asked about various topics. One of them was boxing and how much he fancied himself to beat fellow YouTuber and boxer JJ “KSI.” For those unaware, JJ and Speed share a competitive internet rivalry, with both exchanging banter occasionally. While there is no bad blood between the two, Speed has often said that he could beat KSI in a boxing match.
During Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, Speed was asked if he thinks he could beat the UK YouTuber. The streamer replied:
“Listen, I fought KSI before. It was a spar and I had five days of training. I still gave him work. And I’m not trolling. I believe when I say I can beat him in a match too. As long as I have a few months to train, I got it.”
When asked if boxing was the toughest sport that Speed had competed in, the streamer said:
“I’m gonna be honest…yeah.”
Who Won the Boxing Match Between KSI and IShowSpeed
Back in December 2023, IShowSpeed and KSI hosted their first-ever sparring match. Although it was branded as a boxing match, it was merely a sparring session, meaning there were no official winners, and the event was unsanctioned.
The entire sparring event was scheduled for six rounds. However, given KSI’s superior experience and skill, he faced little to no trouble from Speed. By the end of Round 5, a visibly fatigued Speed was seen on his knees.
KSI stated that he was going to tap out, making Speed the unofficial winner. However, the streamer insisted on completing all six rounds. Despite his determination, the sixth round never took place, as Speed left the compound nearly in tears.
This wasn’t the only time Speed and KSI went head-to-head. In September 2023, the two faced off during the Sidemen Charity Match. Speed had a chance to score a penalty against JJ, who was playing as the goalkeeper, but he scuffed his shot, allowing JJ to make an easy save.
Despite the back-and-forth banter, it’s worth noting that most of the rivalry between Speed and KSI is superficial and not genuine. In fact, Speed is an ambassador for Prime, the hydration drink brand owned by KSI and Logan Paul.
