Pokemon TCG Pocket will release on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. The game will be playable exclusively on mobile devices, and you will be able to play it on both Android and iOS devices.

After months of anticipation, the Pokemon TCG Pocket launch date was finally revealed at the Pokemon World Championships 2024. This mobile game will bring the world of Pokemon TCG to the virtual realm, allowing you to collect cards and build your deck. You will be able to battle against other players and prove your mettle. If you are one of the Pokemon TCG veterans, you are already at an advantage with your superior knowledge of the game.
Details on the official Pokemon TCG Pocket website note the following:
“In this game, you will be able to open two booster packs every day at no cost. You can collect digital cards featuring nostalgic artwork from the past as well as brand-new cards that are exclusive to Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.”
Special Immersive Cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket
Pokemon TCG Pocket will also feature special “immersive cards”. On the outside, these cards look like special illustration holographic cards that TCG players will know of. Except, you will be able to zoom in to have a more immersive feeling of the card and its depiction altogether.
These cards will likely be rarer and add a unique touch to the game which is not really possible in the real Pokemon TCG game.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Gameplay
Pokemon TCG Pocket will have less strict rules as compared to the offline card game. Opening booster packs will be a core aspect of the gameplay since this will be your primary method to get cards. You should absolutely not miss out on these packs daily if you want to have a strong deck and a wide collection. Since you will be able to battle other players, deck building will likely be a crucial aspect as well.
A “Trading Card Game” won’t really do justice to the name if there is no trading involved. Pokemon TCG Pocket will allow you to trade cards with friends with the flick of a finger. It is currently unknown if trading rules like proximity will be a factor, as seen in Pokemon GO.
How to Pre-Order Pokemon TCG Pocket
You can currently pre-order Pokemon TCG Pocket on both Android and iOS devices. You will be able to find the game on Google Play Store and Apple App Store respectively. Pre-loading the game is not currently available.
