The Boruto series has introduced a plethora of characters since its inception. Many characters from the original Naruto series made an appearance in the manga. However, the sequel needed to introduce a variety of new antagonists in order to keep the story interesting.

Naturally, these antagonists had a different set of abilities and plenty of them were exciting to watch on screen. When we talk about exciting villains, one name comes to mind—Eida. She was introduced quite early in the Boruto series and her abilities were the topic of conversation among avid fans.

However, those who haven’t read all of the chapters might not be aware of this character. The question “Who is Eida in Boruto” has been posed on various social media platforms and forums. Eida is a cyborg who was cryogenically preserved. Furthermore, Amado modified her which gave her certain abilities.

Eida was a massive threat to Konohagakure in the manga series. However, she has taken on a more passive role since the Two Blue Vortex commenced.  That being said, she was also one of the first characters who showcased Shinju abilities or Divine Techniques. Let’s take a closer look at the character to know more about her abilities and relevance to the overarching story in the Boruto series.

More About Eida from the Boruto Series

Eida has shown a considerable amount of maturity despite appearing to be slightly younger. Interestingly, Amado modified Eida with an ulterior motive. He wanted to kill Jigen, and therefore, modified the cyborg to give her enhanced combat abilities. Amado granted her and her younger brother, Daemon, Shinobi-Ware, and fragments of Shibai Otsutsuki’s DNA.

However, Eida hated Amado for what he did to her. Her relationship with Amado soured considerably as a result of the latter’s choice to modify her. Jigen wanted Eida dead because he analyzed the sheer difference in their fighting capabilities. Therefore, Jigen ordered Boro to carry out the assassination. It didn’t go as planned because of Eida’s latent ability to charm people who came in contact with her. Boro therefore hid her away in a remote location.

Eida, unlike most characters in the Boruto series, wishes to experience only one thing—true love. She has never experienced this because her abilities charmed anyone who spoke to her. Otsutsuki clan members were the only ones who remained unaffected by her passive abilities. This is also why she pursues Boruto and Kawaki in the manga, hoping that she will one day experience true love.

Eida’s Abilities in Boruto

Kara is one of the most nefarious organizations in the series. There are plenty of powerful members in the organization.  Isshiki Otsutsuki resided within Jigen and led the organization. Despite that, Eida is one of the most powerful characters in the series. She has an eye called the Senrigan.

This is one of the most powerful eyes in the manga. It might not have direct applications on the battlefield. However, it grants the user plenty of reconnaissance abilities. There is nothing that can be hidden from Eida since she can also view events that took place in the past.

She also can charm anyone she wishes to. People fall head over heels for Eida all thanks to her passive abilities. This is also why she never experienced true love in the Boruto series. The only exceptions to this are her blood relatives and anyone from the Otsutsuki Clan.

She also has an ability called Omnipotence. This is one of the most powerful Otsutsuki techniques because of its applications. It quite literally materializes one’s deepest desires. In Eida’s case, the ability cannot be controlled completely. Her Omnipotence got triggered automatically when Kawaki asked for help. Eida has one of the most broken abilities in the series. If she manages to control this technique, she can manifest any desire into reality.

Eida’s Most Notable Feats in Boruto

Code was introduced as one of the most powerful antagonists. There was a lot of hype surrounding this character since he had his limiters on. Eventually, Code’s limiters were removed and despite that, Eida didn’t consider him a threat.

That being said, there is one feat that will show us just how powerful she is. The entire village was hunting Kawaki down owing to his connection with Naruto and Hinata’s chakra signature disappearing out of the blue. They assumed that Kawaki had killed them. He managed to find Eida and asked for her help. She was infatuated with him and had a deep desire to help him.

That’s when the Omnipotence kicked in. Boruto and Kawaki’s places were switched. Now, the entire village hunted down Boruto since they assumed him to be Kawaki, and therefore, responsible for the death of Naruto and Hinata. While this might not seem like much to the average reader, Eida’s powers are terrifying to say the least. She quite literally warped reality to get the desired result. This is her most impressive feat in the Boruto series.

Eida’s Impact on the Plot of Boruto

Eida took on a passive role during the initial stages of the manga. However, she single-handedly changed the direction of the plot. Based on how things were going, Kawaki would have been driven out of the village. Furthermore, he would have sought shelter and trained before entering the village once again. His goal is to kill Boruto and that won’t change.

However, Kawaki’s exit from the village could have changed the plot completely and we might not have seen as much growth in the protagonist.  Since Sasuke and Boruto fled the village, the Shinju entities attacked Sasuke and eventually made their way to the village. This might not have happened if Eida hadn’t switched their positions.

Conclusion

Eida is a powerful character in the Boruto series who also greatly influenced the plot. While she has taken a more passive role at the moment, she will be crucial to the progression of the overarching story. She could potentially find the right person and experience true love. Should this happen, she could lend a hand to the protagonist when he takes on the final antagonist of the series.
