The Boruto manga series has continued for many years now, and during this time, it has introduced a wide range of antagonists. The concept of Otsutsuki was not new to the fans since these beings were introduced during the original Naruto series itself. However, the fanbase was quite excited when they were introduced to new Otsutsuki characters because of their power.

This clan is known for its exceptional jutsu prowess. Isshiki Otsutsuki is one of the most popular antagonists who hails from this particular clan. Fans were quite interested to see what he had to offer because he checked all the boxes during the initial interactions. He was menacing, exuded evil from every fiber of his being, and was a massive threat to the protagonist of the series. He is an important part of the series since he influenced the plot greatly.

This is a show that has been attracting newer fans, which is why those who aren’t up to date with the anime or manga series wish to know more about Isshiki Otsutsuki in the Boruto series.

Isshiki Otsutsuki was a part of the main Otsutsuki family that came to Earth. He accompanied Kaguya Otsutsuki during this mission. Their intention was to plant the God Tree and utilize the Chakra Fruit that it bears. However, Kaguya Otsutsuki betrayed him. He was left for dead, and he was forced to take over the body of a monk named Jigen. This is when Isshiki branded Jigen with the Karma.

Isshiki Otsutsuki became one of the numerous antagonists introduced at that time in the manga. While Kaguya Otsutsuki betrayed him, he didn’t deter from his path. He patiently waited with the intention of finding another superior vessel in order to harvest the God Tree’s Chakra Fruit. Eventually, Jigen became the leader of Kara, the nefarious organization that kidnapped Kawaki during the earlier parts of the series.

Isshiki Otsutsuki trained Kawaki and implanted Karma in him. Kawaki became a stronger character and an important part of the overarching plot. However, things didn’t work out for Isshiki, and he was forced to rely on Code to carry out his will. Despite Isshiki’s short time in the series, he had a lasting impact and gave the viewers some of the most scintillating fight scenes in the entire series.

Isshiki Otsutsuki was an absolute unit in the Boruto series. Despite being put in a relatively weak vessel, he was able to overwhelm both Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke in the animanga series. Isshiki Otsutsuki is extremely proficient in space-time ninjutsu as well as fuinjutsu. In fact, his sealing techniques were so strong that he managed to seal Naruto. To make things worse, only he could undo the seal, and any attempts to break it would immediately destroy what was inside.

Additionally, he was adept at using genjutsu, which was observed in various fights. He had a Byakugan, which gave him a nearly 360-degree view, meaning he virtually had no blind spots.

Isshiki also had access to an eye called the Kokugan. He could look at the life forces of the people around him. The eye also allowed him to perform Sukunahikona. He also had access to the Daikokuten dimension, which we saw moments before the Two Blue Vortex manga began. This allowed him to seal objects and people in a dimension where time doesn’t flow. Furthermore, Isshiki could summon Black Rods, which would not only pierce through durable layers but also drain the victim’s chakra.

Additionally, he could summon Black Cubes, which would impede the opponents’ sensory abilities. Isshiki was also one of the smartest Otsutsuki members in the Boruto series.

One of the most impressive feats is his fight against Naruto in the animanga series. One might wonder why this is the case because he ultimately lost that fight. However, it is important to see the price that Naruto paid in order to beat Isshiki. He was so powerful that he brought out Naruto’s true potential in the animanga series. He forced Naruto and Kurama to use Baryon Mode.

Once Naruto entered this mode, the difference was large and rather apparent. However, the Seventh Hokage was forced to sacrifice Kurama to defeat Isshiki. That’s how powerful Isshiki was in the Animanga series.

When Naruto wasn’t in his Baryon Mode, Isshiki took him and Sasuke on and proceeded to beat them both easily. At this point, both of them were at their peak. Sasuke had his Rinnegan and his Mangekyou Sharingan, while Naruto was in his Kurama Chakra Mode. Isshiki’s Black Rods pierced through Naruto’s chakra cloak and drained his chakra as well. He also used space-time ninjutsu while showcasing his prowess in sealing techniques as well.

Isshiki Otsutsuki is dead in the Boruto series. As mentioned earlier, he entrusted Code with his goal, hoping that Code would be able to carry out his will. The fight against Naruto didn’t end well for Isshiki. Naruto used the Baryon Mode, which forcibly fused Naruto and Kurama’s chakra in a way that one of their chakras gets drained completely. Kurama sacrificed himself for this technique.

However, it was so powerful that Naruto defeated Isshiki in just a few moments. Isshiki progressed considerably, eventually finding a suitable vessel to harvest the Chakra Fruit. Kashin Koji ensured that his regeneration didn’t go through. However, it was Naruto who delivered the final blow in the Boruto series.

Conclusion

Isshiki Otsutsuki was an interesting antagonist in the series. He terrorized the entire village and showed the world just how powerful he was. His existence also brought out Naruto’s true potential. Fans enjoyed that fight, even though it only lasted for a few minutes. While he no longer exists, there are other antagonists who have taken his place. Momoshiki continues to be a threat to Boruto and the entire human race. It will be interesting to see how the series progresses from here on.
