Amid the ongoing controversy between popular Twitch streamer Zack “Asmongold” and Elon Musk, Asmon has shared his thoughts. During a livestream, Zack said he believes that Elon “soft-blocked” him on X. For the uninitiated, soft-blocking means an individual temporarily blocks another person and then unblocks them, which forces them to unfollow the individual. Asmon humorously stated that the last time someone soft-blocked him was his angry ex-girlfriend. In the stream, Asmongold stated:

“I would assume he soft-blocked me. Which means that he probably blocked me and then unblocked me. Which made it so that I don’t follow him and he also doesn’t follow me. Now, I will have to tell you that the last time that happened to me was with an angry ex-girlfriend.”

It all started when Asmongold made a video criticizing Musk for his achievements in Path of Exile 2. Asmongold questioned his achievements and stated that Elon must be account-sharing for sure. Elon Musk had shared on X that he was removed from the game for allegedly using macros. Zack stated that if Elon could prove that he played his account to level 97, he would start streaming on X for an entire year.

Seemingly, Elon did not take Zack’s words lightly. The X owner unfollowed Zack on X. Asmon also had his verification mark and the gaming badge taken away from X.

Elon Musk Misunderstands Asmongold’s Independence

A few days earlier, Elon Musk replied to an X post explaining the whole situation. He stated that even though Asmongold acts like a “maverick independent,” he has to take permission from his bosses to do anything. This misconception about Asmongold being employed under “bosses” stemmed from a conversation between Musk and Zack.

While discussing livestreaming on X with Elon Musk, Zack stated that he would ask his editors if a second account needed to be made. Elon misunderstood the streamer and thought that Asmon was working for someone. In reality, Asmongold was referring to his video editors, individuals he employs to manage his YouTube content.

Elon claimed that he is on hundreds of streams on YouTube and Twitch, playing with the best players in the world. He wrote that Asmongold is good at “caustic commentary” and making fun of people, but he is not good at video games.

“I’m on hundreds of streams on YouTube/Twitch playing live with the world’s best players. No other way to say this, but, while Asmon IS good at caustic commentary and making fun of people, he is NOT good at video games.”

Asmongold then replied to the tweet, stating that leaking his private messages is one thing, but calling him not good at video games is absolutely “uncalled for.” Many netizens commented on Asmon’s achievements in video games, while some criticized Elon for his statements. A community post was also made on the original tweet of Elon Musk, listing several of Asmongold’s achievements in video games.
