Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set up to be a major milestone for the franchise, especially when it comes to UI and UX. Shadows has brought in a new feature called the Animus Hub, which streamlines the user experience while also adding some interesting new features. It includes a unified list of all the new-generation AC games that you can play with a single click, provided you own the game.

In this article, we will explain the Animus Hub section of Assassin’s Creed Shadows in detail. Although the game is delayed, this definitely seems like an interesting addition that is a step in the right direction.

The Assassin’s Creed Animus Hub has four sections:

  • Memories
  • Projects
  • Exchange
  • Vault

Each of these settings aims to synchronize the Assassin’s Creed experience and has a very specific purpose. Here is a detailed explanation of each of these sections:

Animus Hub: Memories

The Memories section shows you all the recent Assassin’s Creed games in a chronological order. You can step into any of these games and play as those characters directly from the Animus Hub, provided you own the game. The Memories section in the Assassin’s Creed Hub is restricted to the following games:

  • Assassin’s Creed Origins
  • Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage
  • Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Essentially, the Animus Hub Memories section allows you to play any of the newer Assassin’s Creed games you own with a single click. It is unknown if the older games, like Assassin’s Creed Unity, Syndicate, or Black Flag, will be available here. Unlikely, we think.

Animus Hub: Projects

Projects will allow you to access exclusive missions that the developers release in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. These missions will have rare and exclusive rewards like special weapons, gear, data files, and keys.

Animus Hub: Exchange

You can exchange the keys that you obtain from the Projects section rewards to build your own arsenal in the Exchange division of the Animus Hub. This feature is currently exclusive to Assassin’s Creed Shadows only, and the items exchanged will be immediately accessible.

Animus Hub: Vault

The Vault section is interesting because it seems to be a mode that tells you a written story. You will gradually unlock parts of this as you progress through Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Likely, the data files that you get as rewards from the Projects section might also be used to unlock some sections. However, the developers have kept us hanging on the edge as they refuse to reveal further information about this lore-intensive section.
