Everything you need to know about Assetto Corsa Evo, the latest racing title from Kunos Simulazioni, its early access details, and more.
Assetto Corsa Evo, the latest offering from developer Kunos Simulazioni, is now live on Steam, albeit in early access. The game was initially announced last year, alongside a lengthy gameplay trailer, with a planned release in Spring 2025. Much like the original Assetto Corsa, the latest title is released in early access to gather player feedback while also enabling the developers to simultaneously prepare the game for a full release later this year. Much like its predecessors, Assetto Corsa Evo is a simulation racer with some arcade elements. The progression in the latest Assetto Corsa is very similar to its predecessors, albeit with some minor changes.
As with most early access games, the pre-release version of AC Evo is quite barebones. However, Kunos Simulazioni has promised frequent content updates for the game over the early access period. Here’s everything you need to know about Assetto Corsa Evo and its early access release.
Assetto Corsa Evo Early Access Release Date and Platforms
Assetto Corsa Evo is currently available on Steam in early access (released on January 16, 2025). The early access version is priced at $40. However, if you grab the game before January 30, 2025, you can avail yourself of a 20% discount on the game. With the discount applied, the effective price of AC Evo on Steam is $31.99.
Furthermore, much like Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione before it, AC Evo is also due for release on consoles, albeit upon its full release. The early access version of the game comes with a host of multiplayer modes as well as five international tracks. Furthermore, there’s also a single-player campaign mode, albeit with a very limited amount of content.
As of writing this article, Kunos Simulazioni has not revealed any concrete date for the full release of the game. However, considering the early access timeline of the original Assetto Corsa, players can expect AC Evo’s full release roughly 6-8 months following the early access.
Assetto Corsa Evo PC System Requirements (Early Access)
For their latest title, developer Kunos Simulazioni has gone back to their custom-made in-house engine. Previously, the studio tested the waters with Unreal Engine 4 for Assetto Corsa Competizione. However, for AC Evo, the studio found their in-house engine to be more than capable of powering the creative vision for the game.
Furthermore, the studio has also made some major improvements to the original Assetto Corsa’s engine. AC Evo comes with support for not only DirectX 12 Ultimate but also real-time ray tracing, advanced global illumination, and an entirely new particle rendering system. However, all that comes at the cost of increased system requirements.
