In this article, we shall go over all you need to know about the Atomic Heart Enchantment Under the Sea DLC.
Atomic Heart was one of the sleeper hits of 2023. The game was flawed, yet its unique setting and creative writing pushed the game to gain cult status. Over the years since its release, Atomic Heart developer Mundfish has supported the game through DLC, which expands upon its addictive gameplay and builds upon the game’s intriguing and creative world.
However, Mundfish is far from done, as they recently announced a new DLC for the game, Atomic Heart Enchantment Under the Sea, which is set to release on January 28, 2025. The Enchantment Under the Sea DLC is bringing in a plethora of new features, a new narrative, and more. In this article, we shall go over all you need to know about the Atomic Heart Enchantment Under the Sea DLC.
What’s New in Atomic Heart Enchantment Under the Sea DLC
A New Location
Atomic Heart’s Enchantment Under the Sea DLC takes its Bioshock inspirations and cranks it up to 11. The game takes you through various locations, but the star of the DLC is the new underwater Neptune Research Center. The locations shown in the trailer bear an unmistakable resemblance to Bioshock’s Rapture. Some of the outdoor shots also seem to draw from Bioshock Infinite.
The game’s star underwater research facility seems to have gone rogue and hostile, and it is up to Sergey “Major P-3” Nechayev to save the day. Gameplay shots in the DLC trailer show locations both inside the facility and outside. P-3 can be seen swimming underwater, seemingly disappearing into the dark depths of the ocean abyss. Whether the DLC will incorporate horror elements or not is still up in the air.
New Toys To Play With, New Enemies To Combat
The Atomic Heart Enchantment Under the Sea DLC will also feature various new weapons and abilities that you will have to use to deal with the new underwater threats. The trailer shows shots of an underwater eel, various android-like robots, enemies resembling crabs, and more. The different enemies bring a fresh new challenge and greater enemy variety, posing the need for new toys to dispose of them.
The DLC will feature the Thunderclap, a massive lightning hammer, in addition to classics such as the KM-4 double-barrel shotgun. Footage from the trailer also shows P-3 using a grappling hook and the new Pyromancer-esque ability that lets him throw fireballs.
