Slide is a crucial part of Battlefield 6’s movement, and if you’re wondering how to execute it in-game, our guide is for you.

Battlefield 6 is now out and in Open Beta, and the game is breaking records on Steam. While it may be everyone’s first time playing the game this weekend, the competition is already at an all-time high. We’ve been killed in ways we cannot even describe in words, and players have the movement and vehicle mechanics mastered.
There are a lot of mechanics you need to master when playing Battlefield 6, and movement comes before all else. Slide is one such movement mechanic in the game, and one that can often bail you out of a difficult situation. Have an enemy squad shooting you from the other end of the alley? Sprint and quickly slide into cover? A tank is about to spot you? Quickly slide into cover and avoid detection.
Slide is a crucial part of Battlefield 6’s movement, but the game doesn’t really teach you how to execute the maneuver. If you’re wondering how to slide in Battlefield 6, our guide is for you.

How To Slide in Battlefield 6

You slide in Battlefield 6 by pressing the crouch button twice during a sprint. There are two buttons you can use to crouch. You can either hold Left Ctrl to crouch or press C to toggle crouch. If you’re sprinting and press any of these buttons twice, it will trigger the slide animation, sending you into a prone profile and covering distances quickly.
The double-tap to crouch control scheme is weird and very different from other first-person shooters. In other games, you simply have to press the button once to slide. If you’re coming from Call of Duty or another shooter and want a similar control scheme for BF6, you’re out of luck. There is no way to change the double-tap slide control scheme in the game right now.
