Slide is a crucial part of Battlefield 6’s movement, and if you’re wondering how to execute it in-game, our guide is for you.

Amid all the chaos of gunfights, tank-fights, and even aerial combat, Battlefield 6 throws you in an actual wartime scenario. While the game retains the familiar elements from the older iterations, the new Kinesthetic movement also introduces some new features to the game. Movement in Battlefield 6 is very dynamic, and you can even slide to save your skin and get to cover.
Mastering slide in Battlefield 6 can be a bit tricky, although it is important you know how to do it. Not only can slides help you get to cover, it can also throw an enemy’s aim off-guard. Have an enemy squad shooting you from the other end of the alley? Sprint and quickly slide into cover? A tank is about to spot you? Quickly slide into cover and avoid detection.
Despite slides being a crucial part of Battlefield 6’s movement, the game does not tell you how to do it at any given instance. If you’re wondering how to slide in Battlefield 6, our guide is for you.
How To Slide in Battlefield 6

You slide in Battlefield 6 by pressing the crouch button twice during a sprint. There are two buttons you can use to crouch:
- Hold Left Ctrl to crouch. You will remain crouched as long as you keep the Left Ctrl key pressed.
- Press C to toggle crouch.
If you’re sprinting and press any of these buttons twice, it will trigger the slide animation, sending you into a prone profile and covering distances quickly. The double-tap mechanic to crouch might be difficult for players to adjust, since this is different from other mainstream first-person shooters. Slide-focused games like Call of Duty generally have a single dedicated button for this mechanic.
As such, mastering slides in Battlefield 6 might be a bit difficult. Once you do master it, you can even chain it to other mechanics like deploying the bipod if you are fast enough. Simply slide into cover, head to any ledge or opening, and then attack your bipod to get some quick kills on an unsuspecting enemy.
Unfortunately, there is no way to change the double-tap mechanic to trigger slides in Battlefield 6 currently. That said, the game is currently in its beta phase, and this feature might undergo changes before the final version releases later this year.
