Oblivion Remastered has many types of weapons, and players love most of them. Among the two-handed weapons, some players prefer battle axes due to their effective three-combo attack. Interestingly, despite being a bladed weapon, battle axes use your blunt stat to derive extra damage, with a couple of exceptions. If you enjoy using weapons like the mace, then you are going to love battle axes.

Unfortunately, there aren’t many unique variants when it comes to these two-handed weapons. But to help you out, here’s a list of the top five battle axes you can use in Oblivion Remastered.

(Note: The base damage of weapons varies according to your level.)

5. Perdition’s Wrath

At the end of this list is Perdition’s Wrath, a dwarven battle axe made of pure gold with beautiful inlays. Despite being fairly strong, it ranks lower due to its acquisition method. You must join the Dark Brotherhood and progress quite a bit before you can buy this weapon from M-raaj Dar, a merchant tied to that faction. However, acquiring this weapon is worth it because of its devastating fire enchantment.

  • Base Damage: 18
  • Enchantments: Fire Damage 20 points in 50 ft
  • How to Obtain: Purchasable from M-raaj Dar

4. Battle-Axe of Winter

The Battle-Axe of Winter is a Daedric weapon that combines solid base damage with excellent enchantments. Although it is a generic weapon, it can easily mow down hordes of enemies thanks to its overall damage. You can obtain it by enchanting any Daedric Battle-Axe with frost magic. Additionally, you might find it randomly from merchants who specialize in selling weapons.

  • Base Damage: 26
  • Enchantments: Frost Damage 20 points in 50 ft
  • How to Obtain: Enchant weapons or purchase from weapon merchants

3. Destarine’s Cleaver

This is one of the easier battle axes to obtain compared to other weapons on this list. You can purchase it early in the game from Tin-Zeeus, a weapon and armor dealer in Leyawiin. This unique blunt weapon not only has strong base damage, but its enchantments boost your Strength and Endurance attributes. It also weighs only 26, making it one of the lightest battle axes in Oblivion Remastered.

  • Base Damage: 15
  • Enchantments: Damage Strength 5 points and Damage Endurance 5 points
  • How to Obtain: Purchasable from Tin-Zeeus

2. Battleaxe of Hatred

Coming in second is the Battleaxe of Hatred, mainly due to how early you can acquire it. You can purchase this weapon in the Imperial City right after completing the tutorial sewers. It offers good base damage that scales effectively thanks to its enchantments. If you are a fan of battle axes, we recommend getting this weapon as soon as possible.

  • Base Damage: 11
  • Enchantments: Damage Strength 5 points, Damage Endurance 5 points, Damage Willpower 5 points
  • How to Obtain: Purchasable from Rosshan at A Fighting Chance

1. Daedric Battle-Axe

The Daedric Battle-Axe is the best in Oblivion Remastered due to its unmatched versatility. Most other powerful axes come with fixed enchantments, meaning you can’t enhance them further. However, the base Daedric Battle-Axe can be enchanted with any sigil stone of your choice, allowing you to add elemental damage. We recommend collecting as many of these axes as possible to create different elemental variants.

  • Base Damage: 26
  • Enchantments: You can enchant it with any element
  • How to Obtain: Dropped from Daedra enemies after reaching level 20
