In this guide learn which Pokemon TCG Pocket decks are the best to use for Ranked Battles in the current meta.

In Pokemon TCG Pocket, Ranked Battles form the main competitive player vs player (PvP) aspect of the game. While it is possible to make a deck with a combination of different Pokemon and Trainer cards, some decks are simply better choices than others. In this guide, we will look at the best decks that you can use in Pokemon TCG Pocket to climb the Ranked Battle ladder.
5 Best Decks For Pocket TCG Pocket Ranked Battles (September 2025)
These Pokemon cards are the best choices to build a deck around for Ranked Battles.
- 1) Suicune ex
- 2) Giratina ex
- 3) Guzzlord ex
- 4) Raikou ex
- 5) Silvally
1) Suicune Ex

Suicune ex is a card that was first added to the game as part of the Secluded Springs expansion. This Pokemon’s move Crystal Waltz does 20 damage for each Pokemon on the Bench. As this move gets powered up by both your and your opponent’s Benched Pokemon, the damage output of this move skyrockets quickly, since Crystal Waltz only needs two Water Energy to work. Suicune ex decks often also use Greninja on the Bench to either take out weakened opponents or weaken the Active Pokemon for Suicune ex to KO.
2) Giratina Ex

Giratina ex has been a meta-defining force since its introduction in Shining Revelry. Its infamy comes from its ability, Broken-Space Bellow. This ability lets you attach a Psychic Energy to Giratina ex at the cost of your turn ending. However, with support from Darkrai ex, waiting out the necessary turns is not an issue. And once it has four Energy attached (with at least 3 Psychic Energy), it can sweep teams with its move Chaotic Impact.
3) Guzzlord Ex

Guzzlord ex, while a decent card, wasn’t a top-tier meta threat when it arrived as part of the Extradimensional Crisis expansion. This has changed with a new Supporter card from Wisdom of Sea and Sky, Will. Guzzlord ex’s first move Grindcore has a chance to discard Energy from the opponent’s Active Pokemon depending on the number of heads you flip. While this was always useful in slowing down cards like Giratina ex, Will ensures that at least one Energy will be discarded. This made Grindcore a far more reliable strategy.
4) Raikou Ex

Raikou ex decks are currently the best Lightning-type decks in the meta. This is vital considering Suicune ex’s dominance right now, as Lightning-types hit Suicune ex for weakness. These decks use Oricorio to stall out opposing Pokemon ex, while Magneton collects extra Lightning Energy. The extra Energy is then re-attached to Raikou ex via the Trainer card Elemental Switch, letting Raikou attack quickly. Additionally, Magneton can evolve into Magnezone and act as a late-game cleaner.
5) Silvally

Silvally is the best single Prize attacker right now. It is often paired with Rampardos as the two deal massive damage while only costing a single point if they are KOd. Silvally’s move Brave Buddies does 100 damage for two Colorless Energy as long as you play a Supporter on that turn. This is a relatively low cost to pay for such consistent damage output. Rampardos can then set up on the Bench and come in and win the game with a decisive attack.
