The RTX 5070 is the latest generation Nvidia GPU powered by the Blackwell Architecture. Product segmentation-wise, it’s a significant upgrade from the RTX 4070, but it doesn’t offer much more value compared to the 4070 Super. 12GB VRAM is slowly hitting its limits in 2025, as games, particularly those with Unreal Engine 5, are becoming extremely resource-intensive. Below are a few titles that are well optimized and will stay within the VRAM limits of your GPU.

1. Forza Horizon 5 (2021)

In terms of racing games, Forza Horizon 5 from Playground Games is a benchmark for good optimization. Even in extreme settings, with RT on and at 1440p, you can expect the VRAM usage to stay below 10GB. If required, you can enable DLSS upscaling or even Frame Generation for higher FPS numbers than native AA.

2. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty (Updated 2025)

With all the latest performance enhancements, new patches, and the new DLSS 4 Transformer model, at 1440p with high settings and medium RT (not path tracing), you can expect frame rates to be 60+ consistently. This is with upscaling, not native AA, and the VRAM usage will be around 9 to 11GB.

3. Dune: Awakening

Like Conan Exiles, this game is also incredibly well optimized. Built on Unreal Engine 5, this MMO offers two gameplay modes: full performance mode for intense PVP, and PVE-style mode with maxed-out graphics. In either option, the RTX 5070 is a great contender. Remember that maxing out every option may cause the 5070 to run out of compute power as well as VRAM, as even though it is optimized, the design choices make it very VRAM heavy.

4. Control Ultimate Edition (2019)

When Remedy released Control, the game was challenging to run with Ray Tracing. Rasterization wasn’t a problem, but turning on RT changed everything, including looks, gameplay, and overall feel. Fast forward to 2025, and the RTX 5070 has enough power within its core to drive the title at maxed-out settings with RT, output high averages, maintain strong 1% lows, and not run out of VRAM.

5. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Next-Gen Update (2015/2022)

With the next-gen update, the game underwent a complete overhaul of its graphics. It introduced Ray Tracing, better textures, improved lighting, and more. The RTX 5070 can max it out with upscaling and FG, staying within the 12GB VRAM. However, for native AA, high settings at 1440p with low to medium RT will suffice.

Verdict

All of the games mentioned here will run flawlessly on your RTX 5070 desktop. For titles like Dune Awakening, Cyberpunk, and The Witcher, upscaling and possibly Frame Generation are necessary to achieve the highest FPS. For the rest, the 5070 will handle native AA just fine.
