The gaming potential on a handheld has changed significantly with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2. It features a substantially more powerful chip than its predecessor. This allows the Switch 2 to run graphically intensive games usually found on bigger consoles, such as the PS5, Xbox Series S, and others.

However, graphically intensive games don’t always mean more fun. That’s why we are showcasing some of the best games you should play on the Nintendo Switch 2. They are really fun to play and have engaging storylines. Read on to find out more.

What Are the Best Games To Play on Nintendo Switch 2?

1) Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the best titles you can play on the Nintendo Switch 2. It is properly optimized to deliver the best of both worlds: high-end graphics and stable 30 FPS performance. While you can play at 40 FPS using Performance mode, we still recommend Quality mode, as it is the best way to play this game.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an action RPG set in a place called Night City. It is a futuristic and dystopian city obsessed with power, glamor, and most importantly, body modifications. You play as a character named V, who wants to thrive in this dangerous city while trying to remove a relic chip from their head before it kills them.

2) The Legend of Zelda Series

The Legend of Zelda series, specifically Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild, has been upgraded for the Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo focused on improving the resolution and frame rates of the two games. Both games now run at 60 FPS at 1080p, which results in a sharper and smoother visual experience.

Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild also received HDR treatment, which further enhances the visual fidelity. The two games have different storylines, but they are set in the same land of Hyrule and follow the journey of Link, the protagonist.

3) Split Fiction

Split Fiction is a co-op title from EA, the same team that made the hit game It Takes Two. It is also available on the Nintendo Switch 2 and runs at 1080p resolution with a stable 30 FPS. The visuals are not compromised, and you will enjoy this game’s graphical fidelity.

Even without the higher visual fidelity, Split Fiction would still be a lot of fun, thanks to its engaging story and split and co-op gameplay mechanics. Also, since it is a co-op game, you will need a friend to play it.

4) Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is one of the best-selling games in the world, and its visual fidelity impressed a lot of gamers. However, it didn’t run very well on the original Switch, and even the visuals were downgraded severely. On top of that, players had to wait a long time for loading parts of the game. Therefore, original Switch users didn’t receive the same great experience as bigger consoles, such as the Xbox Series S, PS5, and others.

However, that changed when WB Games delivered the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of the game. The visual fidelity is now closer to the Xbox and PlayStation consoles than ever, which has substantially improved the gameplay and user experience.

5) Mario Kart World

Mario Kart World was the launch title of the Nintendo Switch 2. This game is designed to showcase the best of what the Nintendo Switch 2 is capable of, so it has improved graphical features and higher performance compared to previous Mario Kart titles. Mario Kart is set in an open-world Mario universe with interconnected courses where you can engage in races.

You can choose from any character in the Mario universe and challenge other players in a long race through a new “Knockout Tour” mode. Players can also go off-road and explore the whole map freely. If that’s not enough, you can also engage in boat racing, rail grinding, and more.
