Want to play some GTA on the go? Here are some unofficial GTA-like mobile games that you can enjoy in 2025.
Grand Theft Auto has made a name for itself in the gaming industry for several reasons. The series has an iconic satirical narration and is known for its ahead-of-the-time visuals. It stands out among other games for the fun and chaotic open-world action. Mobile games haven’t been able to replicate GTA one-to-one.
Although Rockstar has brought certain GTA titles to pocket Android and iOS devices, there are certain reasons why one wouldn’t want to play them. Don’t worry! Here’s a short list of mobile games that will help you relive GTA on the move.
We neither claim these games to be better or worse than the original franchise from Rockstar Games nor do we promote any of the mentioned titles.
Kindly note that the list you are about to check out is based on the writer’s subjective views and not ranked in any way. The titles are as follows:
- MadOut 2: Grand Auto Racing
- Payback 2: The Battle Sandbox
- Gangstar Vegas: World of Crime
- Dude Theft Wars: Offline Games
- Go To Street
If you want further information on the above-mentioned games, keep scrolling down. We will provide you with a brief introduction to each game while also giving you a review overview to decide your pick. We will be referring to the Google PlayStore ratings which allows the users to rate a game out of 5 stars.
1. MadOut 2: Grand Auto Racing
Despite what the name suggests, MadOut2 is not a game about “racing.” You can surely take your car for a spin around the city and even participate in races. But that’s not all this game has to offer. You can wreak havoc in all the ways available, especially using guns. This is a signature hallmark of GTA, and it would have been disappointing if a GTA-like open world didn’t offer any firearms.
The NPCs are not that reactive, but some of the car and environment physics are fun to experiment with. Despite its flaws, the game got a 4.4-star rating from a total of 800K reviews.
2. Payback 2: The Battle Sandbox
Another GTA-like game for you to enjoy on your mobile is Payback 2. The game has a pretty easy-to-use HUD that wouldn’t confuse beginners. Moreover, if you are looking for a way to kill time, you wouldn’t want to indulge in a well-crafted story, and Payback 2 lets you do exactly that. It is a “battle sandbox”. So, you can use everything at your disposal, from helicopters to tanks, to destroy whatever you see fit. 1.9 Million players reviewed and gave it 4.4 stars.

3. Gangstar Vegas: World of Crime
No. It is not a typo. The game officially misspells the word “gangster” in the title. It makes sense if you consider that it can be a combination between the words ‘gangster’ and ‘gangsta’. Anyway. The game has a story if you wish to complete some missions and keep yourself occupied.
You can download it from your designated app store for over 2 GB. It’s not for nothing, of course. The game’s environment often feels vibrant to keep you occupied. It has the rest of it all. Guns, explosives, and cars. The 5.6 million users on PlayStore consider it worth 4.3 stars.
4. Dude Theft Wars: Offline Games
Nothing is funnier to me than watching Polygon character models. The game just becomes several times better when you add hilarious physics to the mix. Dude Theft Wars is a game that does exactly this! You are not some invincible superhero, though.
Law enforcement will surely put an end to you or at least, they try their best. Your primary goal is to wreak havoc, and nothing should stop you from doing that. There is not much lore that you should be aware of before starting the game. It got a rating of 4.5 stars from 1.1 million users.
5. Go To Street
You might have heard about this one or seen it somewhere if you explore PlayStore often for action games. There are two more sequels to ‘Go To Street,’ but they were not able to capture the audience quite like the original installment. The sequels didn’t come from the same developer, and that may be the reason they did not garner similar popularity. This game has some negative reviews, but if you are looking for a GTA-like game—give it a try! 55K users gave it a 4-star rating on the PlayStore.
