Best Settings to Play Cyberpunk: 2077 at 4K

Here are the optimal settings for playing Cyberpunk at 4K, with or without ray tracing, on GPUs with up to 16GB of VRAM and beyond.

Cyberpunk is one of the most challenging games to run at native 4K. The GPU horsepower required, even with rasterization, is considerably higher than in other games. Despite being around 5 years old, this game still puts GPUs like the RTX 5090 on its knees, especially when it comes to path tracing. i.e., However, not everyone has the luxury of playing on a 5090 and finding GPUs such as the 4080 Super and its equivalents to be more pocket-friendly. If you are rocking a GPU within the RTX 4080 Super/RX 7900 XTX tier or higher, then these settings are best suited for you.

Note: At 1440p, considering you are using RT, you need a CPU within the 13600K performance tier; otherwise, you will encounter performance issues.

A few keynotes to consider:

  • For the best image quality, you can play with the 4K native settings, with raster, of course. If you are rocking a 4090 or a 5090, then you can add in path tracing alongside DLSS upscaling.
  • If your GPU is a 4080 Super or 5080, you can use the high path tracing settings alongside the DLSS transformer model and enjoy an image quality that resembles native.

Verdict

That concludes the recommendation for Cyberpunk: 2077 at 4K resolution. Use in-game monitoring tools such as RTSS or Steam’s in-game overlay to monitor frame pacing, 1% lows, and 0.1% lows, as well as the frame time graph. Then, make the necessary adjustments to the settings based on your visual tolerance and performance expectations. These settings should work just the same, albeit with minor adjustments, with the Phantom Liberty DLC as well.
