Some substories stand out over their peers. Here are the best substories you can complete in Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

There are a number of substories you can take part in. Each of these has unique characters with different backstories and motivations. Naturally, these missions give different rewards as well. This makes some substories more lucrative to attempt than others.
However, rewards alone are not what determine a substory’s worth. Sometimes, they leave a lasting emotional impression or are just plain fun. Here is a list of five of the best substories in Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
Smile Again

This quest also features a recurring character from the previous Yakuza games. Jeff is the owner of the Smile Again restaurant. He is also a figure who was previously a nefarious character. However, raising his son seems to have changed the man.
He now focuses on his restaurant and earning clean money rather than taking part in any illicit activities. This change shows great character development, even if his cooking skills leave a lot to be desired. Completing the quest lets Jeff join your pirate crew.
The Captain’s Return

This substory can be done during Chapter 2 of the main story in Honolulu. It features Fukuyama, a character previously introduced in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. This quest shows how far his character has grown and how he devotes his life to cleaning up trash from the streets.
This short quest is simple and easy to complete, and it sends a positive message about cleaning up nature as well. Additionally, the quest lets Fukuyama join your crew. He is definitely a good addition to your team.
I Want To Be Your Nadeshiko

Like the previous quest, this substory is also available in Chapter 2 on the beach. You start the quest by helping a woman on the beach. Here, you are joined by Claire. Throughout the quest, you get to know Claire’s situation. Claire is trying to hide her true nature just so she can be with the man of her dreams.
By the end of the quest, Claire finally reveals her true self to her love interest, and their relationship blossoms. She even joins your crew and gifts you a silver ring as thanks for helping her out. This is a wholesome quest, with an all-out happy ending for all the parties involved (except the ruffians you beat up, of course).
Hironobu Shigeta, 65 Years Old

This substory sees an old man live out his lifelong dream of adventuring at sea. His family is definitely against the idea of him joining our pirate crew. Regardless, we still take him out to sea for a test spin.
However, he almost loses his life during this quest, which makes him realize how much he is attached to his family. Moreover, his family also expresses their joy at his safe return, which makes him aware of their love for him. The quest ends with the entire family reunited and closer than ever. For our troubles, Majima receives a bonus of $10,000.
Stay Crazy

All the previous substories involved some emotional moments or significant character growth. However, with this one, it’s just pure madness. This substory has Majima take part in deliveries for the Crazy Eats brand. This mini-game involves Majima using a bicycle and making high-speed deliveries.
The substory only rewards you $30 for finishing the tutorial delivery. However, it unlocks the Crazy Delivery mini-game for you to perform. These deliveries will keep you on your toes for some time.
These were some of the best substories in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
