Wylder is easily one of the easiest Nightfarers in Elden Ring Nightreign to pick up for newcomers, but also one of the hardest ones to properly master. Similarly to Raider, Wylder’s primary function is to work as the team’s shield. However, if used right, Wylder can dish out incredibly high amounts of damage, even without his Ultimate Art.

Unsurprisingly, much like Raider, Wylder is easily among the best choices for players who want an easier time against Everdark Augur. Although the Nightfarer doesn’t have good Intelligence scaling, he makes up for it with his HP and Character Skill. In fact, Wylder is probably the safest option to choose against Augur, even more so than Ironeye, thanks to his Character Skill as well as affinity towards Greatswords.

However, to get Wylder working his best against Everdark Augur, a well-optimized Relic loadout is a necessity. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the best Wylder build for Everdark Augur in Elden Ring Nightreign.

For this Wylder build, we’re focusing primarily on survivability, since any other passive perk via Relics isn’t going to have a major effect against Everdark Augur. You can work Heolstor and Attack Buff via Evergaol Relics, but we found that having more HP is a better choice against Augur, primarily due to his wave and bubble AOEs.

Apart from HP, we’ve also worked in a few Physical Attack Up and Damage Negation within this build. Essentially, the primary goal is to make Wylder as tanky as possible, which is going to help a lot against Augur. You can also work in a few Poise increasing passives within this build. However, Relics for Poise boost are extremely rare.

We mostly relied on RNG Relics, which are obtained as Expedition completion rewards. However, we did use one static Relic, i.e., Night of Fathom, to get Vigor +5 and Flask passives. As for alternatives, you can go with Heolstor or Dark Fulghor’s Relics as well, since both of them increase Affinity Damage, which will stack when used with additional Magic Damage boosting passives.

Night of the Fathom

  • Increased maximum HP.
  • Flask also heals allies.
  • Items confer effects to all nearby allies.

Here are the additional Relic passives we have worked into this build:

  • Defeating enemies restores HP for allies but not for self.
  • Vigor +3.
  • Physical Attack Up.
  • Slowly restore HP for allies and self when HP is low.
  • Improved damage negation at low HP.
  • Vigor +3.

Tips To Use the Best Wylder Build Against Everdark Augur in Elden Ring Nightreign

Here are some tips to help you use the Wylder build efficiently against Everdark Augur:

  • Since your Relics are only boosting your damage negation and Vigor, make sure to pick weapons that offer passives for Magic Damage and Skill FP consumption. Furthermore, Talismans and passives that enhance charged attacks also work really well against Augur.
  • Although Augur is weak to Lightning, you don’t really need to focus on that when faced with the Everdark variant. The first phase barely has any HP and will go down easily even with just physical damage. As such, Lightning Camps aren’t as much of a priority as field bosses and castles.
  • For the second phase, you want to stay at medium distance from the boss, and only attack with the charged Storm Ruler. You can weave in a few regular attacks as well, but only use them to fend off the bubble AOE.
  • Make sure to keep an eye on Augur and his wave AOE. If you see the wave getting close to you, unlock the camera from the boss, and use Wylder’s Character Skill to create distance between you can the AOE.

Additional Notes

We highly recommend aiming to hit at least Level 14 before Day 3. Also, if you have Shifting Earth events active, make sure to prioritize them in order to obtain Legendary weapons. For Wylder, you want to keep an eye out for the Grafted Blade Greatsword and Marias Executioner’s Sword.
