In Black Myth: Wukong, you can progress and strengthen your character build by unlocking new stances and abilities. Moreover, you can refine those stances further by unlocking talents. Talents are passive boosts to stances that you unlock with Spark Points. Pillar Stance is a much more defensive stance that allows the Destined One to perch on his staff to avoid ground attacks and counter them.

You earn Spark Points in the game by defeating enemies. When you defeat an enemy, you will be granted Willpower. Then, after your Willpower bar fills up, you will get a Spark Point.

Finally, you can respec your Spark Points anytime during the game. This freedom will facilitate combat strategy and allow you to modify your build to exploit boss weaknesses or combat style.

The Pillar Stance in Black Myth: Wukong is broken into two sections. The left section emphasizes perched or using your weapon to stand above enemies. The right section is used for an area-based damage attack, Sweeping Gale. Consider the Perched gameplay a defensive stance style, while Sweeping Gale is useful for AOE damage and kills.

There are a total of 8 Pillar Stance talents skills available to unlock in Black Myth: Wukong, and each will grant a different type of passive boost. There are no active skills or spells available. You need to activate your stance to use the passive abilities gained while in that stance.

Below are all the Pillar Stance Talents in Black Myth Wukong:

  • Pillar Stance: used to unlock the stance.
  • Steel Pillar: reduces stamina cost for maintaining stance.
  • Sweeping Gale: combo light attack to consume focus point and perform AOE sweeping damage.
  • Gale’s Blessing: reduces damage while using Sweeping Gale.
  • Skylarking: allows you to heal with Gourd while in the air perched.
  • Churning Gale: follow up Sweeping Gale with a powerful attack.
  • Towering Mountain: allows you to execute a heavy attack once stamina is drained perched.
  • Collapsing Gale: increases the damage of Churning Gale based on focus point.

Pillar Stance

Pillar Stance Talent - Black Myth Wukong
  • Talent Name: Pillar Stance
  • Description: Switching to Pillar Stance allows the Destined One to support himself with his staff and ascend to its top by holding Heavy Attack, avoiding ground attacks in the process. The more Focus Point he builds, the higher he perches. If the staff is hit by the enemy while perching, more Stamina will be consumed to maintain balance.

The first Talent of the Pillar Stance tree is a simple enough Talent that unlocks the Stance itself. This stance is all about defensive posture and allows the Destined One to avoid ground attacks by perching on his staff. This does cost Stamina when the staff is struck, so you can’t stay up there indefinitely. Instead, use it with proper timing to avoid attacks and deal devastating counter-attacks.

Steel Pillar

  • Description: Each talent level moderately reduces the extra Stamina cost for maintaining balance.
  • Sparks Cost: 1
  • Ranks: 2

The Steel Pillar talent is straightforward but powerful and reduces the Stamina cost for maintaining balance while perched on the staff. This particular talent is worth investing in if you plan on using the Pillar Stance at all.

Sweeping Gale

  • Talent Name: Sweeping Gale
  • Description: Performing Heavy Attack during Light Attack Combo will consume a Focus Point and execute Sweeping Gale.
  • Sparks Cost: 1
  • Ranks: 1

The Sweeping Gale Talent allows you to perform a Sweeping Gale attack by performing a Heavy Attack during a light attack combo. This does require using a Focus Point, but it is a powerful move that hits all nearby enemies. Mostly, this would be used for multiple enemies in AOE situations. However, the skill will not be useful during boss encounters while you’re locked into a long animation.

Gale’s Blessing

  • Talent Name: Gale’s Blessing
  • Description: Grants a considerable amount of Damage Reduction when performing Sweeping Gale.
  • Sparks Cost: 1
  • Ranks: 1

The Gale’s Blessing Talent grants the Destined One Damage reduction while performing Sweeping Gale. This is a straightforward but powerful Talent that is worth taking to prevent a lot of incoming damage while doing the Sweeping Gale attack. The only consideration for taking this talent is if you plan on using the AOE ability frequently or want to gain the next level in the talent tree.

Skylarking

Skylarking Talent - Black Myth Wukong
  • Talent Name: Skylarking
  • Description: With over 3 Focus Points, the Destined One can use the gourd when perching on the staff.
  • Sparks Cost: 1
  • Ranks: 1

If you have 3 Focus Points, the Skylarking Talent allows you to use the gourd while you are perched on the staff. This allowsThis allows you to be able to heal while you are perched, which is, of course, very useful. defense and healing, you can then take ground attacks as an opportunity to heal rather than something to be avoided.

Churning Gale

  • Talent Name: Churning Gale
  • Description: After a successful hit with Sweeping Gale, performing another Heavy Attack that consumes a Focus Point executes Churning Gale. The Destined One leverages his forward momentum to execute rapid whirls, churning nearby enemies with his staff.

  • Ranks: 1

The Churning Gale Talent allows the Destined One to build off of the Sweeping Gale attack into another combo, the Churning Gale. This will of course cost another Focus Point but is a rapid forward attack that deals decent damage. This is a must-have talent in the pillar stance tree if you intend to use Sweeping Gale frequently. You can then, back-to-back combo AOE damage with a hard-hitting single-target ability using focus.

Towering Mountain

Towering Mountain Talent - Black Myth Wukong
  • Talent Name: Towering Mountain
  • Description: The Destined One no longer falls to the ground when perching but instead executes a Heavy Attack upon Stamina Depletion.
  • Sparks Cost: 2
  • Ranks: 1

This powerful talent is at one of the endpoints of the Pillar Stance tree and is one of the more powerful Talents in the game based on its sheer usefulness. One of the main disadvantages of the Pillar Stance is its Stamina usage and if you run out of Stamina while perching on your staff, you will normally just fall to the ground. WIth this Talent, instead of Falling instead you will do a Heavy Attack, meaning you can do damage to your enemies even if things aren’t going well.

Collapsing Gale

  • Talent Name: Collapsing Gale
  • Description: Churning Gale depletes all Focus Points and deals additional Damage based on the Points consumed.
  • Sparks Cost: 2
  • Ranks: 1

Another end-point on the Pillar Stance Skill Tree, the Collapsing Gale Talent uses up all of your Focus Points to deal additional damage. While a powerful Talen for its sheer increase in damage, it does mean you will have to more effectively time and use your combos so as not to deplete your Focus Points at an inopportune time. This Talent needs to be one taken only if it suits the build you are going for.
