Activision has dropped crucial intel about the Black Ops 7 Carry Forward system. For those unaware, Carry Forward is a system that was introduced back in 2023 with Modern Warfare 3. It essentially allows players to transfer their progression from the current Call of Duty game to the next. In the case of MW3, users were able to keep all their unlocks and progressions from MW2 (2022). Unfortunately, this feature was absent in Black Ops 6.
That said, things are changing with Black Ops 7. The upcoming Call of Duty game will allow players to carry over their progression from Black Ops 6, albeit with a few restrictions. Hence, in this article, we’ll explore all the necessary details about the Carry Forward system in Black Ops 7.
How Does the Black Ops 7 Carry Forward System Work?
The Black Ops 7 Carry Forward system will allow you to transfer a plethora of content from Black Ops 6, including consumables. However, it is not as simple as it used to be for Modern Warfare 3 (2023). At launch, you can carry over all your XP Tokens and GobbleGums from BO6. You can access these items on day one. But for content such as weapons, Operators, and Operator skins, you must wait until the Season 1 update for Black Ops 7.
However, as mentioned earlier, the developers aren’t carrying everything over. They have put certain restrictions in place. Here’s what you need to know about them:
- Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content unavailable in Black Ops 7 will not carry forward.
- Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content updated for Black Ops 7. For example, skins for a Scorestreak that might behave the same way in both games but have been modified for BO7 won’t be carried over.
- Weapon Camos from Black Ops 6 won’t be available for use with Black Ops 7 weapons. However, players will be able to carry them forward and use them with all unlocked Black Ops 6 weapons
Warzone will also integrate your progression once the Season 1 update drops. This will allow you to use the latest content introduced with Black Ops 7 in the battle royale title. That said, for Warzone specifically, there are some additional changes. Here’s what you need to know:
- Developers will tune weapons differently for Warzone.
- Warzone Rank will reset in Season 1 as developers integrate progression with Black Ops 7.
