No more searching around for clues. Here’s how to easily get the Vault and Deposit Box keys in Blue Prince.
Getting Vault and Deposit Box keys in Blue Prince can be pretty difficult. We say so because they are rare to come across. Moreover, they appear randomly, so there can be some confusion surrounding them.
If you also find yourself wandering around for clues, you have come to the right place, as we have figured out a pattern for the same.
Where To Get Vault Keys in Blue Prince?
The Vault may or may not appear depending on your run. Since it can give you a lot of gold in a run, the game appears to actively prevent it from spawning each time. Or at least, at the same time in every run. Whenever it does spawn, we have found that the following locations will randomly contain Deposit Box keys in Blue Prince:
- Dirt Piles
- Chests
- Locker Room
- Locksmith
- Attic
- Trading Post
There may be more rooms that we are missing from this list. Kindly note that we are still investigating while playing the game, and if we find more locations where these keys randomly spawn, we will include them here.
Dirt Piles require the Shovel to dig for keys. As for the Locksmith, he can craft a Special Key in exchange for gold. You may also get a Vault Key. Lastly, the Trading Post can be drafted, which will let you trade valuables for a Vault Key.

What Should You Expect From a Deposit Box Key in Blue Prince?
The Deposit Boxes contain a lot of interesting things that help you in your puzzle run. Almost all the boxes in the Vault contain different prizes, but Deposit Boxes #149, 233, and 304 have Allowance Tokens.
For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the term, it means that these tokens will permanently increase your starting gold, giving you a head start in the coming runs. Similar to this, other boxes contain different prizes. However, if you are currently scratching your head over the Sanctum Sigil puzzle, you will also find the Sanctum Key in this Vault in Deposit Box #370.
