Life Skills in Blue Protocol Star Resonance are gathering and crafting skills that help players specialize in their chosen trade. Leveling up Life Skills requires either gathering resources associated with them or crafting products unlocked through those skills. However, either of these actions consumes Focus, a limited resource that regenerates at a rate of 400 per day, with a maximum capacity of 2,000.

There are a total of nine Life Skills you can invest in. Each Life Skill provides increasing returns the more you invest in them. Therefore, spreading out your daily Focus among too many Life Skills is inadvisable.

Botany

Botany is a Life Skill that gathers resources required for crafting in Culinary, Weaving, and Alchemy. It allows you to spend Focus on gathering flowers, fruits, and mushrooms. As the skill’s level increases, you can upgrade its Talents to increase gathering efficiency.

Culinary

Fed by the ingredients you gather with Botany, Culinary allows you to cook various dishes to buff yourself considerably in combat and even receive more XP or loot. For example, consuming the Cheer-Up Treat will triple the rewards for the next Chaotic Realm dungeon you clear. Regardless of which class you play, there are all kinds of foods you can craft to improve armor, damage, health, and any other stats.

Gemology

Unlocking Gemology lets you mine gems like sapphire, topaz, ruby, and emerald, and their Starlight versions. Gemology is required to gather materials for Gemcrafting, Alchemy, and crafting furniture. Leveling up the skill and investing in Gemology Masteries can increase the chance of receiving double the amount of gems while gathering.

Gemcrafting

Using the gemstones you gather from Gemology, Gemcrafting lets you craft jewelry, alchemy materials, and Embeddable Gems. Jewelry can provide substantial bonuses for combat and exploration, but is expensive to craft. For example, purchasing a Wane Emerald Bracelet costs 20 Alloy Shards, but making it yourself consumes only 10 Alloy Shards.

Embeddable Gems are the most important part of Gemcrafting, as they can enhance your gear with stat upgrades to suit your build. Depending on the type of gemstone used, an Embeddable Gem can increase stats like Mastery, Critical Damage, Endurance, Strength, etc. Higher-quality Embeddable Gems can even buff more than one stat at a time.
