Although Borderlands 4 is the newly added title to the BL franchise, the inclusion of Easter eggs is not a new one. If you have played Borderlands 3, you have noticed the Rick and Morty reference, where the names of the characters were slightly changed. Similarly, you will find a mention in the game regarding the iconic Shrek films, featuring modified names for Shrek and Donkey, as Wreck and Burro.

Here is a detailed article that contains everything you need to know about the Shrek Easter Egg in the game.

In Borderlands 4, the Shrek Easter egg is in the Fadefields region. Once there, you can find the egg close to the Idolator’s Noose safehouse and west to Wyclef’s Reprieve safe house. Additionally, refer to the image above to arrive at the exact location of the Easter egg.

After you arrive, jump down into the swampy area below, displaying multiple signboards telling you to stay away. All these details are a clear reference to Shrek’s home in the movie. Keep moving ahead, and you will soon spot the green-colored monster, Shrek, or as the game mentions it, Wreck, along with his donkey.

As you get closer, Wreck will begin to attack you with his weapon. Since most of his moves are of close combat, it is best to maintain distance while attacking him.

Drops After Defeating Shrek in Borderlands 4

Unlike past Borderlands series, where we used to get legendary weapons around these easter eggs, there is not a single reward with the Shrek Easter Egg in the game. However, you can collect the Till Death Do Us Part ECHO Log from there, which is one of many Fadefields ECHO Logs that are necessary for a completionist run. Additionally, you can return to the area, not for any more rewards, but to see Wreck and Burro again.

That was all about the Shrek Easter Egg in Borderlands 4.
