Learn how to get the Roach Legendary Pistol in Borderlands 4, farm efficiently, and maximize its devastating flesh damage.

Roach is a pistol of Legendary rarity in Borderlands 4 with a unique twist. Instead of regular bullets, the gun fires eggs that hatch into small insects that burrow into enemies, dealing high damage to flesh. The weapon can appear with a prefix and elemental variations, including Kinetic, Fire, and Radiation.
Borderlands 4: Roach Legendary Pistol Location

The most efficient way to obtain the Roach legendary pistol is to defeat the Skull Orchid boss. Skull Orchid is located at the end of the Embossed Fault Abandoned Auger Mine. You can find the mine in the southern part of Grindstone of the Worthy, Carcadia Burn. To access Auger Mines and the Skull Orchid boss, you have to first complete the ‘Shadow of the Mountain.’
You can reach Embossed Fault by fast traveling to the Makeshift Chalet station and taking the northeastern road. Before long, the Embossed Fault Abandoned Auger Mine will appear on your right, just past The Pigeonhole point of interest. Once you enter the mine, the path to the boss is relatively straightforward.

If Skull Orchid doesn’t drop the Roach, you can replay the boss fight using Moxxi’s Big Encore. The machine is located at the entrance of the boss arena and charges either cash or Eridium. If applicable, turn off Ultimate Vault Hunter mode to farm the boss faster using this method.

Roach Legendary Pistol Stats and Use in Borderlands 4
- Type: Pistol
- Rarity: Legendary
- Manufacturer: Torgue
- Unique Effect: Flesh Eaters – Shoots eggs that hatch flying roaches when attached to flesh, living or dead
- Red text: “He was the raddest roach”
When you shoot enemies with a flesh (red) health bar using the Roach, small roaches hatch from the target. These bugs fly around and home in on nearby enemies, exploding when they come into contact with them. Shooting a dead enemy that had a flesh health bar will also spawn roaches.
Since the roaches only spawn when coming into contact with flesh, the weapon is not effective against armored targets such as Synths or shielded enemies. When using the Roach against a shielded flesh enemy, first draw a Shock or Radiation weapon to deplete their shield health before switching to the Roach and chewing through their flesh health bar.
Since the weapon is specialized against flesh, the best drop you can hope for is a Roach with Incendiary elemental damage to excel in its niche.
