The process to unlock UVH 2 (Ultimate Vault Hunter) is quite long in Borderlands 4, but it is well worth the wait due to better rewards.

The main campaign in Borderlands 4 is quite an enjoyable and complete experience on its own. And once you’re done with that, the game offers a significant amount of endgame content. However, after a certain point, you would inevitably get too strong, and there would be little challenge left in the game.
This is where the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode comes in, a special feature unlocked after you complete the main campaign, which makes all the enemies more powerful. In exchange, you also get better loot from defeating them. There are five different levels to Ultimate Vault Hunter mode, each with their own unlock conditions. Here is how you can unlock UVH (Ultimate Vault Hunter) 2 in Borderlands 4.
How To Unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter 2 (UVH) in Borderlands 4

The Ultimate Vault Hunter modes are unlocked after you complete the main campaign. Except for Ultimate Vault Hunter 1, the method to unlock the subsequent levels is the same. You must complete specific challenges and then clear the requisite Wildcard mission to unlock each new level of Ultimate Vault Hunter.
These challenges must be completed on the prior level of UVH to unlock them. To unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter 2, you will have to complete the following challenges on Ultimate Vault Hunter 1:
- Bio-Break: Kill Bio-Bulkhead
- Song’s Over: Kill Bramblesong
- Omega 86’d: Kill Bio Armored Omega Thresher
- No Points Awarded: Kill Sydney Pointylegs
After you have completed these four challenges, you will have to clear the Wildcard mission, Rush the Gate. To start this mission, you can talk to Lilith at Moxxi’s bar. Once you have completed this Wildcard mission, UVH 2 will be unlocked. You can then switch your difficulty to it at any time from the Session Settings.
