Users are facing an error called “You do not meet the minimum requirements to access this feature” in Borderlands 4. Here are some fixes.
Borderlands 4 had a rocky launch, with tons of users complaining about performance issues on Steam. However, some users are simply unable to join any co-op matches due to the “You do not meet the minimum requirements to access this feature” error. The co-op is one of the touted features.
If players can’t access that, then it can be a deal breaker for some. Fortunately, there are solutions to this mess. In this article, we are sharing all the fixes for this error. Read on to learn more.

Best Possible Fixes for the “You do not meet the minimum requirements to access this feature” Error on Borderlands 4
The error “You do not meet the minimum requirements to access this feature” on Borderlands 4 happens when you add the wrong birth date in the game. 2K made it mandatory for Borderlands players to be 18 and above. Therefore, if you are 17 or older, your birth date won’t be accepted, and you will meet this error. However, if you are 18 or above and still saw this error, then you probably entered the wrong birth date.
Changing the birth date will solve this issue, but there’s no direct way to re-enter the birth date. There are two ways of solving this error, and they are provided below:
1) Ask for a Change in the Birth Date of Your SHiFT Account
Once a birth date is entered, you cannot change it on your own. You will have to contact 2K support to help solve this issue. Follow this process to appeal for a change in birth date:
- Go to the 2K support page.
- Enter all the details, including your Steam ID, PSN ID, or any other ID, depending on your platform. You will also have to add the SHiFT Support ID, which is shown alongside the error.
- Once you add all the details, click on Submit.
You should receive an email from 2K support, which should include instructions on how to change the birth date.
2) Use a New SHiFT Account
The second method is to use a new SHiFT account. Follow these steps:
- Sign in to the SHiFT website using the original SHiFT account.
- Next, unlink Steam, Twitch, and all other accounts.
- Once that’s done, sign out of that SHiFT account.
- Next, click the Create New Account button on the Sign In page.
- Link your Steam ID to your new SHiFT account.
- Now, launch Borderlands 4, and sign in to your new SHiFT account.
The game will prompt you to re-enter your birth date. Enter it carefully this time, and the error “You do not meet the minimum requirements to access this feature” will not appear again.
These two solutions should fix that error once and for all. The first method should work for most people. However, if you don’t mind waiting for the official mail from 2K support, then opt for the second method.
