Learn about the Skull Orchid in Borderlands 4, from its location and unlock requirements to its attacks and Legendary drops.
Skull Orchid is one of the seven Auger Mine bosses in Borderlands 4. The subterranean boss lives up to its name with a ghastly appearance, supporting an oversized skull head on its stilt-like legs. Not only does Skull Orchid drop desirable Legendary gear, but you will also need to defeat it at UVH 3 to unlock the UVH 4 difficulty.
Borderlands 4: Skull Orchid Location
Skull Orchid can be found at the end of the Embossed Fault Abandoned Auger Mine in Grindstone of the Worthy area of Carcadia Burn. However, you must first complete the ‘Shadow of the Mountain’ main mission to unlock the Auger Mines before you can fight Skull Orchid.
From the Makeshift Chalet fast travel station in southwest Grindstone of the Worthy, travel up the northeastern road. You will come upon the Embossed Fault Abandoned Auger Mine by The Pigeonhole on the right side of the road. After entering the mine, follow the straightforward tunnel path to the boss’s chamber. You will find two vending machines and a checkpoint at its entrance.
How To Beat Skull Orchid Boss in Borderlands 4
- The boss has only one flesh health bar, which is weak to incendiary damage.
- Skull Orchid’s weak spot is its exposed tongue tentacles, which can be shot for critical hits.
- It can jump to relocate. So make sure to use powerful abilities when it is mid-attack to reduce the chance of missing the boss.
- Skull Orchid will summon Creeps partway through the battle. You can kill them to get a Second Wind if you are downed.
- The boss can perform burrowing attacks. When it goes underground, watch out for the marker on the ground indicating where it will emerge and sprint clear of it.

Skull Orchid Legendary Drops and Rewards
Skull Orchid is a suitable boss to farm for Legendary gear, as it is fairly easy to beat. Use Moxxi’s Big Encore machine at the boss arena’s entrance to respawn Skull Orchid until you obtain your desired Legendary drop.
