The PSN server outage has caused many problems for players around the globe. Services like Account Management, Gaming and Social, and PlayStation Store are currently shut down. PlayStation users cannot access Marvel Rivals because it is an online hero shooter game. Activities like launching, logging in, and playing are totally denied during the outage. Additionally, any kind of in-game purchases is prohibited as they are considered an online service.
Sony is currently working on fixing this problem, and they responded via a tweet acknowledging the issue. The issue is with the PSN server outage and not with Marvel Rivals, so players don’t have to be afraid of their in-game data. As of now, Sony has not confirmed the cause of the outage. However, some users are connecting this incident with the 2011 outage, which was caused by a data breach in Sony’s network.
The outage has affected multiple Sony consoles, such as PS3, PS4, Web, and obviously PS5. We recommend players stay calm during this time of crisis as Sony is trying their best to fix things. There is no other way to play Marvel Rivals but to wait for the servers to come online.
