Umamusume: Pretty Derby is a free-to-play racing simulator about training horse girls. Based on the anime of the same name, the gacha game transports players to Tracen Academy, where they take on the role of a trainer to coach their horse girls for various racing events. The majority of the Career Mode gameplay consists of developing a racing strategy for a specific horse girl. After three in-game years of training, the trainee competes in an adrenaline-fueled race to become a champion.

With the game captivating worldwide audiences following its global release, its plans for debuting on new platforms have come to fruition. While it has been launched on PC, Umamusume: Pretty Derby is not available on any consoles, including Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch

Although you cannot play Umamusume: Pretty Derby on consoles, there is no reason for you to miss out. Besides PC, the racing sim is available for mobile phones on the Google Play Store for Android and Apple’s App Store for iOS users.

The game was initially developed for mobile and was ported over to PC for the global release. While the textures and graphics are predictably better on PC, primarily for the races, the mobile version is more convenient and still holds up well visually. The difference is especially noticeable in the storage space it requires on either platform. The mobile version is well optimized and takes up 5.5 GB. When installed on PC, the improved texture packs increase the game’s storage space to 11 GB.

So far, Cygames has not announced any plans to bring Umamusume: Pretty Derby to any consoles. The development team seems to have their hands full for now, releasing regular updates, new soundtracks, and gifting in-game currency to players, thanking them for their support. It is unlikely that Umamusume: Pretty Derby will make its way to consoles in the foreseeable future.

While the popular Umamusume: Pretty Derby racing simulator isn’t available on console, another title by Cygames is: Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Party Dash. You can play Party Dash on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Party Dash is a 4-person co-op action sidescroller with pixel graphics. It isn’t nearly as well-received as Umamusume: Pretty Derby, but it has a greater dose of comedy and variety in gameplay and introduces players to the Umamusume universe.
