However, as soon as the game became available on PC, many players voiced their complaints regarding the game’s performance issues and poor optimization. Despite that, Monster Hunter Wilds has sold 1 million copies worldwide and received praise from fans and critics regarding the gameplay and the graphical fidelity, but even that could not prevent the mostly negative rating on Steam.

Since then, the publisher of the game has issued a statement addressing the criticism of the poor performance. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Capcom’s Response to Monster Hunter Wilds’ Poor Performance on PC

After the backlash, Capcom was quick to respond to the complaints of PC gamers. They also shared more information on their official Monster Hunter Support website, linked in the X post.

On the website, there were a few additional suggestions on how players can fix the Monster Hunter Wilds performance issue, such as adding the game’s files and folder to the antivirus exception list, checking for Windows updates, updating DirectX, and performing a clean reinstallation of their Video Drivers, among other things.
