In order to cook, you have to look for a place called Dawn Slope Settlement. This is a starter town that has all the major facilities. The cooking stove is right across from the resource crafting table. All you have to do is head there and press E to start cooking. Each dish has its own perks, so you must carefully decide which gourmet dish you desire. After gathering all the required ingredients, you can cook the dish. The finished food will be placed in your inventory, and you can even map it to a quick-use slot.
