Chrono Odyssey’s overworld is quite massive, and there’s no quick way to get around the map until you get a horse. While you can try to sprint your way across, your stamina meter is quite limited, and you’ll tire quite easily. Also, the sprint itself isn’t that fast. So, if you’re planning to get around the world in a jiffy, unlocking your first horse is your best bet.

However, doing so requires you to do some traveling too. In this guide, we will explore how you can unlock a horse in Chrono Odyssey quickly.

The first big town you visit in the game has a stable, but don’t expect to get a horse here. You will need to travel southeast from this town until you finally reach the Santove’s Discovery location. If you’re having trouble locating this spot, you need to head south from the Shady Vale region.

In this place, you will be able to talk to Medina, the stablemaster. She will send you out on the Gone With the Wind quest, where you’ll get your first horse. In this quest, you will need to venture east and claim a snowy white horse from the area.

Once you reach the quest location, spot any of the all-white horses roaming the region. Slowly walk up to it and press E to claim the animal. However, doing so can be problematic since the horses will run away as soon as you start the process to calm them down. You can make this process easier in one of two ways.

  • Use the Temporal Isolation skill if you have already unlocked it. This skill temporarily freezes time, so using it just before calming a horse will ensure that it stays in place.

  • If you don’t have this skill yet, try to calm the horse once and let it run off. Immediately follow it and start the calming process again. The horses have a cooldown when it comes to their ability to run away. So, performing the calming twice in quick succession prevents the animal from running off the second time around.

After calming one of the all-white horses, you will need to head back to Medina. This will complete the quest and let you claim your first horse in the game, making traversal much faster.
