The Crisis Events in Civilization 7 are random events that throw your empire into a crisis. These events could be anything ranging from a plague to an outright revolt, and it is then up to you to deal with the crisis and clean up in the aftermath. The idea behind these Crisis Events is to give you a realistic and unpredictable experience of building your own empire.
If you’re stuck on a Crisis Event in the game and want to know more about it, our guide has you covered. In this guide, we shall go over the Crisis Events in Civilization 7 and explain them in detail.
What Are Crisis Events

As stated earlier, the Crisis Events are random events that exist to shake up your experience in each of the three Ages. These events take place toward the end of the Ages and put your skills to the test. Once the Crisis Event kicks off, you will have to pick from a selection of Crisis Policies that can positively or negatively impact your gameplay. These policies serve as a means to tackle the ongoing crisis and will determine how you fare.
The Crisis Events in the game include:
- Revolts: This happens when citizens under you are unhappy and raise pitchforks against you in an act of rebellion.
- Invasion: The impending threat of an invading Independent Power on your borders.
- Plague: A disease that runs through your territory, claiming life and dismantling your infrastructure.
- Wars of Religion: Wars that are fought on the basis of religion. As religions become more and more prominent, some may fail to coexist, leading to war.
- Revolution: Much like the revolts of the early ages, the common man raises his voice against the nobles, and soon things escalate to a revolution.
- Plague (Exploration Age): The plague in the Exploration Age is a relatively easier task but will still ravage your territory if not handled appropriately. With the right equipment and staff at hand, we hope you deal with this well.
