Discover all Flying Waters Paint Cage lock locations in Clair Obscur Expedition 33 to access hidden rewards and valuable items.

Progressing through Clair Obscur Expedition 33 leads you into many concealed corners, and Flying Waters is one of the more rewarding places to explore. If you are trying to collect Paint Cage rewards, this part of the game demands close attention to your surroundings.
There are two Paint Cages here, each sealed behind three separate locks. Breaking all the locks grants access to rare items. Let’s break this down so you can move through without missing anything.
First Paint Cage in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

The first Paint Cage isn’t tucked away. You will find it fairly early while heading toward Maelle. Just keep an eye on the right side of the main route, and you will spot it without needing to stray off course. Once you are standing in front of it, you will want to destroy the three locks nearby.
Lock 1
Face the Paint Cage directly from the path. Shift your gaze to the right. Behind the leafy kelp-like plants on the wall is your first lock. It’s partially hidden, but not far.
Lock 2
Now turn around with your back to the cage and scan the opposite side of the area. Look upward. The second lock is attached midway up a wall, directly across from the Paint Cage.
Lock 3
A large whale statue stands nearby. Walk up to it and circle around. Focus on the tail—on the side facing the Paint Cage. You will find the third lock placed right in the middle of the tail structure.
After dealing with all three, the cage opens. This one rewards you with a Chroma Elixir Shard.
Second Paint Cage in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

This one takes a bit more effort. You should continue past Maelle and reach the Camp Flag located after the tunnel with the Nevron. From that point, your next steps are important.
Head straight down the main route from the Camp Flag. On your right, there’s a glowing red area. Step into it, and locate a hole in the ground. Drop through it.
Use your grapple skill to follow the winding path. This area is guarded. Three Crulers will challenge you here, so clear them out before continuing. Once the Paint Cage becomes visible, your hunt for its locks begins.
Lock 1
Look around the space where the Crulers attacked. One of the nearby walls has the first lock, positioned about halfway up. It doesn’t blend in too much, so scan thoroughly.
Lock 2
Turn to face the entrance of this hidden area. To the left of that view, near the Paint Cage, you will see tube-like formations on the ground. The second lock is attached to one of them. Stay close to the cage while you look.
Lock 3
Put the Paint Cage behind you again, facing back toward where you entered the zone. Move slightly right and pay attention to any floating objects. One of them—a mine—holds the third and final lock. Aim carefully when you go to destroy it.

Opening this second cage gives you a Revive Tint Shard.
