Forgotten Battlefield in Clair Obscur Expedition 33 unlocks after Act 2 begins, once Esquie can swim across water. You will find this location by moving up the coast. It’s a large space packed with traps, boss battles, rest points, hidden collectibles, and multiple branching paths.

Entry and Rest Points

Start from the Main Gate, which acts as the first fast travel flag. Once inside, the area opens into different routes:

• Vanguard Point can be reached by crossing the wooden bridge near the Chalier, also to the far right.
• Battlefield is along the left path from the Fading Woman NPC.
• Ancient Bridge sits at the end of the area and leads into the final boss battle.

Each of these flags works as a fast travel point. Activate them to avoid walking long distances after defeats or restocking.

Petank Catch Strategy

You will come across a creature called Petank after the Battlefield rest point. This isn’t a simple fight. It requires you to approach it from three sides in the correct sequence:

1. First, move from its right side. It will flee left.
2. Next, approach from the 3 o’clock position to push it further.
3. Finally, flank it from the left to guide it into a purple trap.

Once inside the trap, defeat it to receive:

• Polished Chroma Catalyst x5
• Recoat x1
• Colour of Lumina x5

These are crafting items that are useful for strengthening gear and tints.

Boss Fights in Forgotten Battlefield

Dualliste (Main Boss)

• Location: Past the Ancient Bridge rest point.
• Weakness: Light
• Avoid: Fire and Dark elements

Dualliste’s fight requires timed reactions. It uses a range of moves that combine fast attacks with delayed hits. You will need to mix jumps, dodges, and Gradient Counters. It’s the final boss of this region and drops Dualiso, a Lightning-element weapon with high Vitality and Defense stats, usable by Gustave or Verso.

Chromatic Luster (Optional Boss)

• Location: Right path from the Fading Woman NPC
• Weakness: Lightning
• Absorbs: Fire

This boss heals if it inflicts Burn, so avoid triggering the Burn status on yourself. Use Lune’s Healing Light or Cleansing Tint to remove the effect. The Thunderfall spell works well here. Chromatic Luster drops Lusteson, a Dark-element weapon with high Vitality and Agility for Sciel.

Weapons found in Forgotten Battlefield are dropped by specific enemies or sold by NPCs:

• Inverted Affinity: Apply Inverted at battle start, boosts damage by 50%. Sold by Kasumi.
• Combo Attack I: Adds an extra hit to the base attack. Dropped by Dualliste.
