How To Beat Chromatic Glaise in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
The Chromatic Glaise is weak to Fire and Ice while holding a strong resistance to Lightning. Keeping this in mind, we highly recommend bringing in Lune and Maelle as party members, with maybe Sciel as a third. Lune excels in both Ice and Fire-based damage, with her Typhoon and Lance being excellent for Ice-based damage in particular. Maelle, well, excels in damage in general, but also brings Breaking Rules, which will cut through the boss’ shield.
As far as the boss’s attack patterns go, the Chromatic Glaise has three. The first is a standard ground smash. The Chromatic Glaise raises both its arms, slamming them down into the ground with force. This is easy to parry, and you can do so by pressing the parry button just as the arms begin a downward arc.
The second attack is a ground pound. The boss hunches over, smashing his fist into the ground to send shockwaves for a 3-hit combo. The waves travel through the ground and are bright green in color. Parry the waves just a moment after they begin traveling.
The final attack you need to watch for is the earthquake. This 5 hit combo sees the boss smashing the ground one after the other. The attack is slow and easy to parry. Press the parry button shortly after the boss’s fist reaches his shoulders. Parry and counterattack to beat the Chromatic Glaise.
