Party Composition

The Chromatic Glissando is a tricky boss to beat, but can be overcome if you exploit its weakness to Ice and Dark. We recommend bringing in Lune and Sciel for the job. Lune can support with heals, while also dealing damage using the Ice Lance. Sciel excels at Dark-based damage and will shred through the boss with her Gradient Attacks.

Attack Patterns

The boss has a glowing spot on its tail. We recommend incapacitating it right away. This spot enhances the attacks and will inflict Dizzy if left unattended. The tail grows back at regular intervals, so make it a priority each time.

As far as defending yourself goes, you have to watch out for a few attacks. The first is a predictable head smash. The boss smashes the ground twice, tilting its head upward right before the attack. Time your parries according to the head tilt.

The second attack is the Tail Slam. The boss sweeps away its tail left and right to hit you in a 6-hit combo. This has a predictable timing with no delays. If you’ve incapacitated its tail by shooting the glowing spot, it will use a Weakened Tail Slam. This is only a 3-hit combo with the same parry timings as the enhanced version.

The Chromatic Glissando also has a Gradient version of this attack, so stay on your guard always. You have to be very careful and parry/dodge all attacks. If you die, the boss can absorb the corpse to heal, prolonging the fight.
