Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has plenty of bosses for you to beat along your main path to the Paintress. However, if you’re still not content and wish for more, the game has you covered with dozens of bosses all over the Continent. The Chromatic Jar is one such boss you find while exploring the Continent.

You stumble across the Chromatic Jar on a small isle southwest of the White Tree, and you quickly realize why the boss was in exile. The Chromatic Jar hits hard and even goes as far as to use feints to throw you off on your parries. This is a tricky boss to beat, and this guide will explain how to beat the Chromatic Jar in Clair Obscur Expedition 33.

The Chromatic Jar is weak to Fire, Ice, Earth, and Lightning. This means you can bring in any combination of characters to deal with the boss. If you still need a suggestion, though, we’d recommend bringing in Lune. Lune’s skill tree covers all the elements above, and is capable of single-handedly beating the boss.

As far as attacks go, the Chromatic Jar has a few you need to be on the lookout for. The first attack is the Smashing Combo. Chromatic Jar begins this five-hit combo by smashing its staff on the ground. The ground smash is the first hit and can be parried, whereas the second and third hits are shockwaves you must jump over. The boss then smashes his staff twice in a row for the fourth and fifth hits. Keep track of the transition to jump to deal with the entire combo and counterattack.

The second attack you need to watch for is when the boss “Smashes the ground.” The boss then raises his staff to smash it, only to perform a feint thrice. After the third feint, he smashes the staff, and you have to jump over it and counterattack.

The final attack is a regular six-hit combo. The boss spins for four hits, followed by two vertical smashes. Press R1 repeatedly and quickly for the first four, and then slow down for the delayed vertical hits. Counterattack and use elemental damage to finish him off.
