In this guide, we shall go over how to beat Glaise in Clair Obscur Expedition 33, a boss in the Yellow Harvest region of the game.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 melds turn-based gameplay with real-time action, making each fight a test of strategy and reflexes. The basic enemies help you hone your skills and master the combat, and the bosses then test your mastery in difficult encounters. Glaise is one such encounter in the Yellow Harvest region of the game.
Glaise is an absolute unit of a boss, armed to the gills with a seemingly impenetrable hide. The boss takes little to no damage to most attacks, and you have to be smart with how you approach the fight if you wish to stand a chance.
The boss also has hard-hitting attacks, each of which requires different parrying timings. If you’re struggling to read the attacks and figure out the timing, you’ve come to the right place. In this guide, we shall go over how to beat Glaise in Clair Obscur Expedition 33, a boss in the Yellow Harvest region of the game.

You find Glaise past the Yellow Spire Wrecks Expedition Flag in the Yellow Harvest region of the game. Head past the flag into the boss arena and the fight will begin automatically. Right as the fight kicks off, the boss will use the ground pound as its first attack.
In this, the boss bends down and smashes the ground thrice, sending a wave after each strike. The wave takes about a second to reach you, so parry accordingly. Parry all three waves for a devastating counterattack.
The next attack you need to watch for is the ground slam. The boss raises both its arms, charging them up in the air, before slamming them right into the ground for a hard-hitting blow. This attack eats away a chunk of HP, so it is vital to parry. Press the parry button right as the arms reach the boss’ shoulder level on their way down. If you’re having trouble figuring this out, you can dodge it a little earlier.
As far as attacking the boss is concerned, using Fire and Ice elements is your best best. Glaise takes little to no damage against Lightning, and worse – absorbs Earth attacks to heal. Stick to Fire and Ice, of which Maelle and Lune have plenty of options, to defeat the boss.
