Goblu is one of the earliest bosses you face in the game, towards the end of the Flying Waters area. With eyes across its torso and red fur sprouting from its chest, Goblu is your reality check of the horrors that await you on the expedition. The boss towers over you, manifesting a feeling of hopelessness. Goblu’s horrific appearance translates into the gameplay too. The boss hits hard and takes away chunks of your HP effortlessly.
Without a doubt, Goblu is one of the hardest bosses in the game. To make matters worse, this is a main story boss, meaning you can’t just skip it if you wish toi progress. If you’re someone stuck on this boss, you need all the help you can get, and we’re here for just that. In this guide, we shall go over how to defeat Goblu in Clair Obscur Expedition 33.

As stated earlier, Goblu is a boss that hits hard. Being patient and aware of its attacks is your key to success. The first attack that the boss spams often is a jump attack. The first one might get you, but you’ll soon notice that it has a predictable dodge window. Use this window to escape the attack. If you feel bold, you can try parrying, too, as doing so thrice in succession gives you the chance to counterattack.
Whenever your chance to dish out damage pops up, you can exploit Goblu’s vulnerability to electricity. Lune’s Thunderfall melts through Goblu, forcing him to summon flowers to his defense. Take note that the boss is resistant to ice, so don’t bring these into play.
Once the flowers are in play, you can shoot them using the free aim. These flowers power up Goblu, so you cannot afford to let them charge untouched. Cycle between the flowers and Goblu to chip away at the HP and defeat the boss.
