Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 sends you on an impossible death mission to stop the Paintress. Along the way, you’ll face a relentless gauntlet of bosses, each with their own unique style and level of aggression. Every encounter forces you to adapt, reshaping your approach with every battle…unless you’re using the Inverted Affinity.
To put it bluntly, the Inverted Affinity is an absolutely broken Picto in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It applies Inverted, a condition that prevents healing for three turns—but in exchange, you gain a staggering 50 percent damage boost during that time.
On paper, it sounds balanced: massive damage at the cost of survivability. In practice, those three turns are often all you need to completely turn the tide of battle. With smart timing, Inverted Affinity lets you blow past even the toughest bosses before the thought of healing ever crosses your mind.

As stated earlier, the Inverted Affinity is a massively busted ability (that needs to be nerfed, honestly, but that’s another discussion). This Picto is a must-have, and to find it, you need to follow the steps given below:
- Head over to the Ancient Bridge rest point in the Forgotten Battlefield region of the game.
- Take a U-turn after spawning and enter the dilapidated building on the left.
- Interact with the gold thread in the building and head to the upper floor to find the merchant Kasumi.
- Talk to Kasumi and select the [Trade] option.
- Scroll through her inventory and select Inverted Affinity. This is the sixth item from the top. Purchase Inverted Affinity for 9870 Chromas.
Once purchased, you can equip this Picto for any character and use it in battle. We recommend pairing this up with other damage-boosting Pictos for maximum damage output.
