After finding Maelle at the Manor, the surviving members of Expedition 33 set out to find help from the locals to reach the Paintress. Noco points them towards the Ancient Sanctuary, and you can find a handful of hidden items worth grabbing, like the Burning Mark Pictos.
You can start at the main entrance and run towards the large Gestral figure. You can use the stream to your left as a guide. Follow it down the path until you spot a slope running downwards, then use the ledge to reach it.
