After Renoir kills Gustave at the end of the first act, Verso fills in his spot and acts as a guide for Expedition 33. Verso leads them through the Forgotten Battlefield, an area full of powerful Nevrons, to make their way to the Paintress. However, Maelle wanted to bury Gustave, and Verso suggested a decent place to put his prosthetic arm to rest, along with other fallen expeditions.

While exploring, you can find the local Gestral Merchant, Kasumi. Kasumi has set up shop above a broken structure to remain out of sight from the Nevrons. Fortunately, unlike most Gestral Merchants, Kasumi will not challenge you to a fight and will happily take just your Chroma. You will need 9,870 Chroma to purchase the Inverted Affinity Pictos.
