As you set out on your expedition to uncover the secrets of the world of Clair Obscur Expedition 33, you’re immediately greeted with unbridled hostility. Several enemies roam about in this world, all looking to kill you. The very few seemingly friendly faces you find seem suspicious, and trusting them is a tough ask.
The mental and physical toll of navigating this gorgeous yet dangerous world inevitably catches up to you, and you just want to drop everything and take a break. Clair Obscur Expedition 33 allows you to do that in a cozy little camp.
You can set up your own camp in the game where you can interact with party members, cool off, upgrade, and much more. The camp brings in a much needed change of pace after hours of fighting and exploring, and also offers you a chance to learn more about your companions. The camp is one of the best (and coziest) features in the game, and one the game doesn’t exactly tell you how to set up.

How To Set Up Camp in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Before you get to setting up camp in Clair Obscur Expedition 33, you first need to unlock it. You do so fairly early on in the game in Act 1: Gustave, after defeating Eveque. Eveque is the first main story boss in the game that you face in Spring Meadows. Beat Eveque, and you can then set up camp using the D-pad down key when on the world map. This will take you to the camp.
The camp is far more than a moment of respite. You can rest here by “Sleeping,” which brings you back to top shape. You can talk to your party members, and later on, to other NPCs for upgrades. If you’ve had your break and wish to leave, interact with the bonfire. Then, press the designated “Leave” button to leave the camp.
